This article describes the effectiveness of the application of a program of cognitive therapies for the depression of people with stroke, from the moment of initial contact with the psychologist during the acute period, as well as at the following stages of rehabilitation, for the formation of affective-behavioral regulation skills. The intervention through this program contributed to the optimization of the psychosocial rehabilitation process, by capitalizing on some principles, directions, methods, techniques of an integrated approach to post-stroke people from different well-organized psychological orientations and beneficial development for this group of people.
