ABSTRACT This paper presents the design, implementation, and evaluation of the Green Smart Home (GSH) platform, a novel end-user development solution that integrates an energy-aware digital twin with an LLM-enabled conversational agent. Motivated by the growing complexity of IoT ecosystems and the need for sustainability-oriented tools accessible to non-experts, the system enables users to create automations through natural language while receiving real-time feedback on conflicts, activation chains, and energy-related issues. The GSH introduces a unified platform that combines conflict detection, consumption forecasting, contextual explanations, and an intuitive visual representation of the home. An autoethnographic study of the system in six of the authors’ homes provided insights into long-term use, highlighting increased user awareness of energy consumption, active experimentation with automations, and the value of conversational interaction, while also revealing limitations. Findings confirm the GSH’s potential to enhance sustainability, usability, and user empowerment in smart home environments.

Tumour genetic profiling has the potential to significantly improve cancer care by informing targeted treatments and improving patient outcomes. As use increases worldwide, greater attention should be paid to consumer experiences, need and priorities. This study is consumer-led and aims to inform an equitable and ethical roll out of future services by exploring consumer: 1) awareness of tumour genetic profiling, 2) experiences with tumour genetic profiling, and 3) priorities for improving access to and delivery of tumour genetic profiling within Victoria, Australia. A consumer reference group was formed and supported by experienced researchers and professional staff of a comprehensive cancer centre alliance to develop and conduct the research study. A cross-sectional survey was conducted between January and May 2024, capturing demographic and disease characteristics, along with questions relating to each aim. Both quantitative and qualitative data were collected. Eligible participants were patients diagnosed with cancer whose treatment teams were based in Victoria, Australia, or caregivers of such patients. Of the 181 respondents (n = 36 carers, n = 145 patients), 23% (n = 44) reported that they (or the person they cared for) had undergone tumour genetic profiling. The majority reported a positive impact, including increased knowledge/understanding (n = 30, 68%) and personalised treatment options (n = 23, 52%), with very low decisional regret (mean: 3/100). However, 14% reported no understanding of the results at all, and confusion was reported as a drawback of testing. Higher education and greater shared decision making were associated with better understanding of results (p = 0.02 and p = 0.04, respectively) and higher education was also associated with greater awareness of genetic tumour profiling (p = 0.008). The primary barriers to uptake were lack of awareness (n = 88, 83%) and lack of perceived benefit from the treatment team (n = 19, 18%). Key strategies for improvement identified by participants included government-subsidised testing and improved patient and clinician education. This study highlighted gaps in consumer awareness and access to tumour genetic profiling, as well as the benefits of shared decision making. Overall, consumer-led insights emphasise the need for equitable funding, education, and systemic improvements. These findings can inform policies and practices aimed at delivering person-centred cancer care in Victoria and beyond. Future longitudinal research is needed to comprehensively explore these associations and track progress.

ABSTRACT The fashion industry is undergoing a fundamental transformation toward circular economy principles, driven by growing sustainability awareness, digital platform adoption, and shifting consumer values. Integrated hybrid fashion ecosystem platforms that unify new product retail, clothing rental, and resale services within a single interface represent an emerging and innovative model within this transformation. Despite rapid growth in individual rental and resale markets, fully integrated hybrid fashion platforms remain scarce, particularly in emerging economies such as India. This study examines consumer awareness, trust, and adoption intention toward integrated hybrid fashion platforms in the Bangalore urban market. Primary data was collected from 271 respondents using a structured online questionnaire administered through Google Forms, employing a five-point Likert scale. Consumer perceptions were measured across three key constructs: hybrid platform awareness and acceptance, trust and adoption factors, and adoption intention and platform preference. Statistical techniques including independent samples T-tests, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation analysis, and linear regression were applied to test three research hypotheses. Findings indicate that consumers generally demonstrate positive attitudes toward hybrid fashion platforms, with age significantly influencing adoption willingness. Trust-related factors particularly hygiene standards, brand reputation, and authenticity verification emerged as important determinants of consumer confidence in rental and resale services. Convenience was recognised as a baseline expectation rather than a primary adoption driver. The study contributes empirical insights to circular fashion literature and provides actionable managerial implications for brands planning to launch hybrid fashion platforms in emerging urban markets. This study aims to analyze the motivation, implementation, barriers, and impacts of the green entrepreneurship concept at Craftonesia SME in Semarang City. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive case study method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving the business owner, employees, consumers, and surrounding community members selected through purposive sampling. Data validity was tested using source triangulation and method triangulation, while data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model encompassing data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the owner's motivation was formed by five interrelated factors: environmental concern (green values), passion for crafts, positive market response (identifying gap in the market), desire for independence (being their own boss), and the need for additional income (making a living). The implementation of green entrepreneurship encompasses two main aspects: vision and mission, and production processes, including the use of waste paper as raw material, manual production with minimal pollution, natural dyes, food-grade coating, product variation, and zero waste management. Barriers encountered include limited skilled human resources, longer production time, low consumer awareness, and limited access to information on green business certification. The impacts of implementation align with the Triple Bottom Line framework, covering environmental waste reduction, community empowerment, and expanded market access through green industry exhibitions. This study concludes that micro-scale enterprises can consistently implement green entrepreneurship as a holistic and sustainable business approach.

This study explores the evolving role of influencer marketing in promoting sustainability across industries, highlighting how digital creators have become powerful intermediaries in shaping consumer awareness, attitudes, and eco-conscious behaviours. Using a qualitative and exploratory research approach, the study draws insights from secondary data, online sources, and of sustainability influencers across fashion, beauty, lifestyle, travel, home, and technology sectors. The findings show that authenticity, credibility, and transparency are central to effective sustainability communication, with micro- and nano-influencers often generating deeper trust and engagement.

The development of documentary films in Indonesia has encouraged the need for presenting reality in an informative manner while maintaining strong visual quality. Documentary films were no longer viewed merely as a medium for recording facts, but also as a creative medium capable of delivering social messages through a cinematic approach. Cinematography became an important element because it played a role in constructing meaning, atmosphere, and viewing experience through well-directed visual management. This study discussed the management of cinematographic elements by the Director of Photography in the documentary film “Mindful Sip: Matcha Beyond The Trend”, which raised the phenomenon of increasing matcha consumption as part of the lifestyle trend among young people. The method used was a creative approach based on expository documentary through the stages of pre-production, production, and post-production. The entire creation process was focused on concept planning, image capturing, and visual as well as narrative refinement so that the documentary message could be conveyed effectively. The results showed that matcha had developed into a symbol of a healthy, productive, and aesthetic lifestyle, yet awareness of responsible consumption was often neglected. The management of camera angle, camera movement, type of shot, and composition was proven to strengthen visual representation and help audiences understand the phenomenon more critically. Therefore, cinematography played an important role not only in producing attractive visuals, but also in clarifying the documentary’s message regarding the relationship between consumption trends and bodily experience.

The rapid development of corporate business activities in Indonesia has contributed positively to economic growth; however, it also has the potential to cause losses to consumers. In practice, corporations often engage in unlawful acts that harm consumers, including violations of consumer rights, the provision of goods and/or services that do not meet required standards, and actions that contravene statutory regulations. This study aims to analyze the forms of legal protection for consumers as well as corporate liability for unlawful acts committed by corporations. This research employs a normative legal method with statutory and conceptual approaches. The legal materials used consist of primary, secondary, and tertiary sources, which are analyzed qualitatively. The findings indicate that legal protection for consumers has been regulated in various laws and regulations, particularly the Consumer Protection Law; however, its implementation still faces several challenges, such as weak law enforcement, low consumer awareness, and the complexity of proving corporate liability as a legal subject. Furthermore, corporate liability may be imposed through civil, criminal, and administrative sanctions depending on the nature of the violation committed. In conclusion, strengthening regulations and more effective law enforcement are necessary to ensure consumer protection from unlawful acts by corporations. In addition, enhancing the role of supervisory institutions and public legal awareness is essential to create a balance between the interests of business actors and consumers.

This study focuses on understanding consumer awareness towards agro-food processed products, with special emphasis on organic processed food items. The rapid growth of the food processing industry, along with changing lifestyles and increasing health consciousness, has significantly influenced consumer preferences. The research aims to examine the level of awareness, perception, and buying behavior of consumers regarding processed food products. The main objective of this research is to analyze the level of awareness, perception, and purchasing behavior of consumers regarding agro-food processed products. The study is based on both primary and secondary data. Primary data was collected through a structured questionnaire, while secondary data was obtained from various research articles, journals, and online sources. The findings of the study reveal that while consumers are generally aware of processed food products, awareness regarding organic processed food is comparatively moderate. Most consumers perceive organic products as healthier and safer; however, factors such as higher prices and limited availability act as major barriers to their regular consumption. The study concludes that there is a positive trend towards organic agro-food processed products, and with increased awareness, bette marketing strategies, and affordable pricing, their adoption is likely to increase in the future. The study concludes that there is a growing inclination towards organic agro-food processed products, and increasing awareness along with better affordability can further enhance their adoption among consumers.

Food loss and waste (FLW) is a major global challenge with significant social, environmental, and economic impacts. The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) estimates that one-third of food produced for human consumption is lost or wasted annually, amounting to 1.3 billion tonnes. This study analyzes FLW variations across supply chain stages in developed and developing countries using the FAO 2022 database (21,736 observations, 149 countries). Inferential statistical analysis (Kruskal-Wallis tests) evaluates differences in FLW by stage and country development level. Results show higher FLW in developed countries (39.67%) than in developing ones (21.87%). Developed nations experience more waste in Distribution (10.0%) and Consumption (17.0%), while developing nations face losses in Agricultural Production (2.5%) and Postharvest Handling. Findings highlight the need for tailored interventions: infrastructure and technology enhancements in developing nations, and policy-driven consumer behavior changes in developed ones. Solutions include improved supply chain transparency, AI-driven demand forecasting, food donation programs, and consumer awareness campaigns. This research advances FLW understanding and informs policies for their elimination. Future studies should refine quantification methods, assess policy impacts, and explore technological solutions to mitigate FLW’s environmental and economic effects.
