A Further Study and Assessment on Geographic Information System: From Highway Ecological Landscape Environment Angle of View

With the development of the national economy, our country’s highway construction is developing in a more advanced and humane direction. On the basis of meeting traffic needs, people have begun to pay more attention to the construction of highway landscapes. Based on the understanding and integration of domestic and foreign landscape evaluation system research, this paper constructs a new type of highway landscape evaluation model and selects Zhangjiakou, one of the co-host cities of the Winter Olympics, to analyze and verify the model. We use the designed evaluation model to analyze and evaluate the three highways in the Zhangjiakou area. First, based on the analytic hierarchy process, the combination of qualitative and quantitative evaluation indicators is selected, and then, the GIS geographic information system is used to obtain the basic data of the quantitative indicators and the questionnaire method is used. The grade evaluation of three highways is realized, and the optimization measures and construction strategies for the landscape quality along the highway are proposed. The results show that the research results of this evaluation system are of great significance to the landscape construction along the line, the protection of landscape resources, and the development of tourist roads.

Soil science within German cities

AbstractThe soils of urban areas were belatedly discovered as a research subject, becoming popular for study in the 1970s. With the growth of cities, there were increased requirements for urban soil information to assure the urban quality of life. Thus, the WG Urban Soils (AKS [Arbeitskreis Stadtboeden], today AGUB) within the German Soil Science Society (DBG) was established in 1987. This paper outlines the national and international achievements of AKS/AGUB and the initiated international urban soil network. Particular attention is given to soil mapping and research in Germany.The foundation of AKS/AGUB initiated a high scientific response on the new research field of urban soils. A soil mapping instruction was established. According to the German concept of soil unit “soil form” from the substrate and soil formation, much attention was given to soil material of natural and technic origin, as well as structure and profile composition. The focus of soil formation is on the young age, the effect of artificial landscape construction, and the speed of soil development. For surveying areas of high soil diversity, conceptual maps were developed. A great number of cities were mapped. As in Germany, urban soils were included in several national soil classification systems. Those of Germany, the United States, Russia, France, and the international World Reference Base for Soil Resources (WRB) are compared. A great number of tasks of urban administration concern soil problems, such as pollution, soil sealing, urban greening, stormwater infiltration, heating, dust, and carbon sequestration, so soils were relevant in city government work. Internationally, the WG SUITMA of International Union of Soil Science and the US WG INCOMANTH were dedicated to urban soils. The AKS/AGUB could contribute to the European Commission with concepts of soil functions and soil evaluation and the introduction of Technosols to the WRB.Important future aspects will be the competition of intense rising soil consumption by building activities, and the availability and quality of soils for a sustainable urban life.

Correlation Analysis Method for Modern Landscape Economic Management under the Perspective of Big Data Fusion Perspective

With rapid development of modern social economic and people’s living standards, modern landscape, as the main place of adjusting urban life, can not only provide recreation places for the fast pace of urban life, but also make people’s body and mind get relaxed. Therefore, the modern landscape construction and economic management is an issue worth thinking and exploration, which attracting more and more people’s attention, but its economy management lacks of scientific guidance. In order to improve the quality of modern landscape economy management, by analyzing the modern landscape construction methods and economic management, the main deficiencies of the modern landscape economic management are analyzed in this paper. And big data technology is studied to improve the quality of modern landscape economic management, a correlation analysis method under the big data fusion of modern landscape economy management mode is put forward which can provide theory for improving as well as economic management pointed out the direction of the future development of modern landscape.

Modularized Information Fusion Design of Urban Garden Landscape in Big Data Background

Traditional information fusion model has the problem of low efficiency in urban landscape design. In addition, using the current method to design urban commercial landscape public facilities, there are problems of large regional space occupation and unsatisfactory design effect. This paper designs a new modular information fusion model for urban landscape design process in view of genetic back propagation. On the basis of preprocessing sensor images, a digital elevation model is created using an ordered numerical sequence. Then, the stereo orthophoto image pair is obtained through the artificial parallax assistance mechanism, and the 3D garden landscape is generated by combining with the ant colony algorithm. The positive feedback mechanism of the ant colony algorithm is used to make the processing process converge continuously, and the optimal 3D garden landscape is finally generated by obtaining stereo orthophoto pairs through the artificial parallax-assisted mechanism. At the same time, the strong robustness and fault tolerance of neural network and parallel processing mechanism are utilized for fast information fusion. The scale and resources of garden design are described by the process dimension and the context dimension, and a modular garden landscape with distinct main body is built. Finally, the initial weight is optimized in the genetic real number coding algorithm, and the appropriate learning factor is selected to train the neural network so as to make the information fusion task. Experimental results show that the above model fusion process has good stability and low energy consumption for information fusion, which can promote the efficient construction of garden landscapes.

Construction of an immune infiltration landscape based on immune-related genes in cervical cancer

Clinical trials demonstrated that immunotherapy improved the prognosis of patients with cervical cancer (CC), which is strongly associated with immune infiltration landscape. We aimed to comprehensively analyze the immune infiltration landscape and provide directions for immunotherapy of CC. The study was based on the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database and utilized immune-related genes (IRGs) to identify heterogeneous immune subtypes. The ESTIMATE and CIBERSORT algorithms were performed to unravel the landscape of the tumor immune microenvironment. The IRGs score was constructed by principal component analysis. Then, we analyzed the differences in immune-related characteristics and prognosis between high and low IRGs score groups. An independent immunotherapy cohort (IMvigor210) was used to verify the reliability and stability of the IRGs score. Herein, a total of 272 TCGA-CC samples were divided into high (n = 199) and low (n = 73) IRGs score groups. The infiltration of CD8 T cells, memory resting CD4 T cells, and memory activated CD4 T cells, as well as better prognostic outcomes, mainly exhibited in the low IRGs score group and gene cluster A. GSEA analysis showed that JAK/STAT and VEGF signaling pathways were activated in the low IRGs score group. In contrast, the high IRGs score group with least lymphocyte infiltration may contribute to the poor prognosis. The prognosis of the IMvigor210 cohort was still significantly different between high and low IRGs score groups (P < 0.001). This study demonstrated that the IRGs score could be an independent prognostic biomarker and provide direction for tailoring immunotherapy strategies in the future clinical treatment.

Landscape Evaluation of Forest Park Based on Analytic Hierarchy Process

Road ecological landscape construction is an important part of creating an ecological garden city, and it is also an indispensable link in urban garden landscape planning. Taking a national forest park in a certain area as the research object, using the analytic hierarchy process, taking into account the ecological and landscape benefits, we selected 6 parameters: carbon sequestration, dust retention, humidification, plant aesthetic benefits, plant ornamental benefits, and roadside landscape integration. The main indicators construct the forest park landscape resource quality evaluation system. The results show that the comprehensive evaluation score of the national forest park landscape resource quality in this area is 82.36 points, which is in line with the first-level standard in the evaluation system, indicating that the quality of the scenic resources in the park is high and it has unique tourism development value, which can scientifically and reasonably develop forest ecology tourism. In addition, the evaluation system proposed in this article can objectively reflect the value of the park’s ecological whirlpool and the basic conditions for carrying out ecotourism according to the key index factors that affect the quality of scenic resources and provide a scientific and reliable reference for the high-quality development of forest parks.

Sustainable Relationship in Design: The Contribution Wisdom of Academies Landscape in Southern Jiangsu from an “Interpersonal View” Perspective

In recent years, designers have increasingly emphasized sustainability in landscape design, but they have focused more on the “human-nature” relationship while neglecting the relationship between people. As a result, problems such as inconvenient use of the landscape and waste of resources for management and renovation have been caused. To solve this problem, it is necessary to establish the correct concept at the beginning of design. Traditional Chinese ideas can often provide appropriate reference points for many contemporary issues, including design. Taking the landscapes of ancient academies in southern Jiangsu as an example, this paper tries to explore the methods and ideas of the designers to deal with the “people-people” relationship in the process of construction, as an example of sustainable landscape design. Both textual research and metrological historiography were used to examine and summarize the characteristics of the landscape construction of the academies in southern Jiangsu, combined with the analysis of the theory of “interpersonal view”. It is apparent that the landscape construction of the academies in southern Jiangsu is characterized by site selection with favorable geography and people, scale and function with the balance of supply and demand, building construction with thrift and efficiency, and a site-specific and simple courtyard built. The formation of these characteristics originates from the founder’s design concept of care about education and being kind to scholars, saving materials and taking good care of the people, benefiting others before to themselves, and portraying the Confucian idea of “great harmony in the world”. The thought and design concept of the landscape construction of the academies in southern Jiangsu can provide a reference point for landscape designers to solve the sustainable problem of the “people-people” relationship in landscape design.

Organonscape, geography, and aural spaces of kemençe in and around Trabzon

ABSTRACT The kemençe instrument is a crucial part of daily life in the Eastern Black Sea region’s culture. Besides the performance of the kemençe, other instruments, dances, and the ideological discourses associated with the instrument show us how local people interact with the landscape of the Eastern Black Sea region. This study examines the space of kemençe by considering its complex cultural relations in and around the province of Trabzon. We use the concept of organonscape to analyse the space of the kemençe through considering the geography and spatial features of the instrument. This concept shows that instruments are important determinants of performance and are created to mark a fluid space in relation to landscape. As a result, the organonscape of the kemençe contains musical practices and shapes the ideological construction of landscapes as spaces where the kemençe is performed.

Concept and Practices Involved in Comprehensive River Control Based on the Synergy among Flood Control, Ecological Restoration, and Urban Development: A Case Study on a Valley Reach of Luanhe River in a Semiarid Region in North China

Many rivers in semiarid areas have ecological degradation and flood control problems that need to be addressed urgently. In order to maintain river health and to promote the sustainable development of cities near these rivers, a comprehensive river regulation project must be carried out. In this study, first, the factors influencing river health are discussed, and the principles and main restrictions involved in comprehensive regulations are studied. The scientific regulation mode is proposed, and new financing channels for water conservancy construction are also suggested. Second, a river reach adjacent to a city in the middle part of the Luanhe River in North China is used as a case study. The health status of the river is analyzed, and a comprehensive river regulation plan combined with urban development is put forward on this basis. The plan includes embankment construction, river regulations, multilevel rubber dam storage, ecological restoration, and artificial lake and riverside landscape construction. The influence of the engineering treatment on the river flood discharge capacity is examined, and the treatment effect is verified by a hydraulic scale model. After implementation of the comprehensive river regulations, the flood control safety of the city and river ecological environment are found to be significantly improved, with the hidden danger of dust storms eliminated. The treatment project incurs environmental, social, and economic benefits and preliminarily achieves the coordination and mutual promotion of river regulation and urban development.

Rendering and Optimization Algorithm of Digital City’s 3D Artistic Landscape Based on Virtual Reality

“Digital city” in a broad sense refers to urban informatization. That is to say, the digital city will gradually realize the informatization of the urban national economy and society by building infrastructure platforms such as broadband multimedia information network and geographic information system, integrating urban information resources, establishing e-government, e-commerce, labor, social insurance, and other information communities, to make the city in an invincible position in the competition of the information age. The virtual reality technology of urban three-dimensional landscape, or the establishment of a virtual city, is an important part of the vast project of digital city construction. This research mainly discusses the rendering and optimization algorithm of digital city 3D artistic landscape based on virtual reality. The article uses image stitching technology. Clean up unnecessary furniture in the CAD floor plan, and try to keep only the wall structure. Export drawings and save as dwg files for 3DMAX modeling. For adjacent overlapping images, the common features of the overlapping parts are determined by image matching, so that the images taken at different shooting positions and different viewing directions with a small angle of intersection are calculated to be unified. Take the photo coordinate system, and then find out the overlapping range of each direction for splicing. In the actual data acquisition process, most of the spatial data such as existing maps are used. It mainly includes topographic maps and the latest planning drawings, as well as planning and design drawings of various residential areas. In addition to determining the specific location of each feature, various maps are used to make a surface image (texture) of an urban area based on these data using Photoshop. The editing of roaming space is the key to realizing 3D panoramic virtual city browsing. Combined with the navigation of 3D panoramic map, using key technologies such as hotspot connection and command button, the 3D panoramic images collected in different places in the city can be effectively integrated into one, assisting with various multimedia elements, such as background music, animated videos, and language commentary, show the true appearance of the virtual city in all directions. Compared with the SURF algorithm, the SIFT algorithm extracts more feature points and more correctly matched point pairs, and the minimum time is 0.524 s. This research will contribute to the construction of the three-dimensional landscape of the digital city.

Multimodal Palimpsests: Ideology, (Non-)memory, Affect and the Senses in Cultural Landscapes Construction in Eastern and Central Europe

This article introduces a collection of essays about the construction of a cultural landscape in Eastern and Central Europe. This part of the world has been subjected to violent changes over the past hundred years that have also left their marks on the landscape, especially in the wake of the Second World War and after the fall of the Iron Curtain. It is suggested that the cultural dimension of these changes will be approached as a multimodal palimpsest, where old layers have partially been erased and overwritten by new layers of landscape text, with the old text still being more or less readable to the researcher. In addition, it is emphasized that this process of rewriting is still ongoing, in attempts to inscribe landscapes within ethnocentric frameworks.

Imagining imperial frontiers: Photography-as-cartography in the mapping of eastern Africa

This paper examines the construction of imperial landscapes in the borderlands of eastern Africa in the early twentieth century. Recent literature has emphasized the haphazard, contingent, and often hybrid nature of mapping imperial frontiers and colonial governance in eastern Africa. This paper looks at the role of photography in the mapping of the Kenya-Somali frontier through the rich photographic archive of colonial official, Sir Geoffrey Archer. Archer documented his cartographic surveys through multiple media – diaries, maps, photographs – that provide a unique lens through which to explore the role of visual culture in contestations over territoriality, mobility, and sovereignty. While this photographic archive visualized imperial frontier landscapes and documented the work of cartographic surveys, it also revealed the dependency on local intermediaries, through their labour, geographic knowledge, and spatial practices. Photography-as-cartography demonstrated both the productive work of photography and the ambivalent presence of colonized peoples in the mapping of imperial frontiers, revealing the social lives of the borderlands and capturing fugitive meanings, bodies, and landscapes.

Multi-millennial human impacts and climate change during the Maya early Anthropocene: implications on hydro-sedimentary dynamics and socio-environmental trajectories (Naachtun, Guatemala)

During the Maya early Anthropocene (2000 BCE – 1000 CE) in Mesoamerica, socio-environmental interactions contributed to the rise and decline of the ancient Maya civilisation. At the scale of the exploitation territories of the Maya cities, the temporal variations of hydrological and sedimentary dynamics in response to anthropogenic and climate drivers are still poorly known. This constrains diachronic analyses of socio-ecosystems and, more particularly, of water and soil resources in the hinterlands. This manuscript analyses and presents a regional comparison of the dynamics of one of the most transformed hydrosystems and morpho-sedimentary systems by the societies of the Southern Maya Lowlands (SMLs), during the second half of the Holocene. It focuses on the lake basin of the polje named El Infierno bajo and its watershed, which was the main water storage area for the Maya city of Naachtun – a large regional capital between 150 and 950 CE –, and which contains many remains of hydraulic and agrarian structures. This integrated palaeolimnological, geoarchaeological and hydrological approach, based on the analyses of morpho-sedimentary archives, LiDAR altimetry data and hydrological data, resulted in the construction of hydro-sedimentary baselines (pre- syn- and post-ancient Maya anthropogenic impacts). Currently, the intermittent lake (civale) of this bajo responds to strong seasonal and interannual hydrological variabilities, under climate control. During the past 5500 years, hydro-sedimentary fluctuations were marked by the alternation of seven main hydrological periods (HP), characterised by high and low lake levels (alternately perennial, intermittent and dry lake) and six main erosion and sediment transfer periods (ESTP), marked by strong and low alluvial and colluvial detrital inputs in the lowlands. Anthropogenic and climate forcings have independently or jointly controlled the hydrologic and sedimentary budgets of the lake basin. Lithofacies, depositional processes, accumulation rates and drivers of the anthropogenic detrital inputs – the so-called “Maya clays” –, are analysed and quantified from ∼1500 BCE to ∼1150 CE. It thus reveals one of the longest periods of occupation and exploitation of natural resources of the SMLs, for over 2500 years during the Preclassic, Classic and Post-classic Maya periods. The hydro-sedimentary dynamics in the bajos of the SMLs Elevated Interior Region (EIR), such as El Infierno, enabled the long-term exploitation of water and soil resources for agrarian purposes, thanks to the construction of hydraulic and agrarian palimpsest landscapes shaped by the socio-ecosystems.

Спільні українсько-молдовські місця пам’яті в культурному ландшафті Орхейських Кодр Республіки Молдова

The article is based on the materials of an expeditionary journey in 2019 to Orhei district of the Republic of Moldova. The importance of local traditions formed in the conditions of Ukrainian-Moldovan intercultural coexistence and included into modern arsenal of cultural memory of both Moldovans and Ukrainians is emphasized. Especial significance of the cultural landscape of the territory as the collective memory retransmitter in this is noted. Owing to the analysis of the interconnections between the local community and the natural conditions of its residence, it has become possible to determine the features of folk housing, economic practices, rituals, etc. The formative importance of the former estate of the landowner K. Balioz in Ivancha village (Ivancea) in the mental construction of the local landscape is shown. At the same time, such structure is influenced significantly by the location of the settlement in the area of the Old Orhei (Orheiul Vechi), a unique natural and cultural zone, which is considered as an iconic place of Moldova. Numerous commemorative practices of Ukrainians, namely the creation of public organizations, the activities of local folk group, search for the up-to-date forms of self‑presentation, are important components of life of the Ivancha villagers. Besides, it is also an essential aspect of the development of ethnic self‑consciousness of the entire Ukrainian community of Moldova in general in the conditions of conscious harmonious intercultural coexistence and common places of memory.

Research on the Healing Potential of Rural Community Streets From the Perspective of Audiovisual Integration: A Case Study of Four Rural Communities in China.

Rural communities have become a hot topic in academic circles because of their graceful natural environment and great healing potential. However, existing research still lacks attention to the street space in rural communities and rarely considers its integrated visual and soundscape design in terms of their effect on public health. As a result, the healing potential of rural community streets cannot be fully used in design practice. Relevant audiovisual materials were collected from a field investigation in four rural communities in southwestern China. Based on these data, the subjective and objective healing index data of subjects under comprehensive audiovisual conditions were collected and analyzed through laboratory experiments. The results revealed that type of street space affects healing potential, and the artificial–natural enclosed and natural semi-enclosed streets are the street types with the best healing effect. When the total sound pressure level was 55dB(A), the sound combination with birdsong accounting for 70% had a significant positive effect on improving the healing effect of rural community streets. In contrast, the sound combination with birdsong accounting for 50% or less had no significant effect on improving healing. The subjective healing perception of street space in rural communities was significantly positively correlated with aesthetic preferences. There was also a significant correlation between subjective healing perception and physiological index data in the audiovisual combination. This research explored the impact of different types of street space and sound combinations on the healing effect of rural community streets in an integrated audiovisual environment and provided a scientific basis for the healing landscape design of rural community streets in an integrated audiovisual environment. It was expected to provide new ideas for the construction of rural community landscapes, including acoustic landscapes, to promote physical and mental healing.

Phytoplankton dynamics and implications for eutrophication management in an urban river with a series of rubber dams

Rubber dams are widely used in urban rivers for landscape construction and flood control. However, the increased water residence time by dams usually causes phytoplankton accumulation. Developing a greater understanding of the phytoplankton dynamics and the effecting factors is essential for the eutrophication control of dammed rivers. Here, we investigated the variations in biomass and structure of phytoplankton communities along an urban landscape river with 30 rubber dams, and the main controlling factors during a 2-yr field monitoring. The biomass of phytoplankton significantly increased from 12.7 μg/L-Chl a and 1.14 × 107 ind./L-cells at the natural river part above dams to 65.2 μg/L-Chl a and 1.16 × 108 ind./L-cells at the 30th dam on average. There were different dominant taxa of phytoplankton between river sections with and without dams in different seasons. As Bacillariophyta dominated at the natural river part above dams throughout the year, accounting for 64.6% on average, and dominated at the 13th and 30th dams during the cold seasons (69.6% on average). But during the warm seasons, Cyanophyta and Chlorophyta increased obviously in the dammed river sections and became dominant taxa at the 30th dam, accounting for 55.9% and 34.7% respectively. The α-diversity of phytoplankton decreased along the series of dams. While the β-diversity between river sections with and without dams increased because of species replacement. Redundancy analysis revealed that nutrients, flow velocity and temperature were the main factors influencing the spatial-temporal variation in phytoplankton community structure in this river. High-frequency monitoring data further indicated that phosphorus and discharge explained most of the variations in phytoplankton biomass within the 13th dam impoundment. It suggested that management strategies should focus on reducing the phosphorus input concentration under 0.164 mg/L and increase the discharge higher than 0.64 m3/s during warm seasons, to prevent phytoplankton bloom and further eutrophication problems in this dammed river.

Evaluation and Analysis of Quantitative Architectural Space Index Based on Analytic Hierarchy Process.

With the continuous development of the social economy, the urban residential structure is also changing, and people have higher and higher requirements for the living environment. Moreover, the landscape construction of public spaces in cities is an important part of the city. It is easy to neglect the comprehensive consideration of historical development and regional culture in architectural projects. The overall lack of individuality in urban design, the lack of characteristics of adapting measures to local conditions, and the blind emphasis on architectural landscaping have led to a serious lack of regional cultural characteristics and spiritual culture in public places. Therefore, in terms of the problems of insufficient landscape construction quality and green concepts being insufficient in the construction environment of cities, an evaluation method system is established in the paper to further study the shortcomings of the scenic area architecture. What is more, relying on the personal experience of the users in the scenic spot and understanding the real needs of the public space landscape environment around the scenic spot, scientific methods and a complete system are applied to make an overall assessment of the public space in the built residential area. Besides, according to the data analysis of the simulation experiment, the advantages and disadvantages of the public space in the residential area are extracted. Combined with the current research status, the green concept design strategy of the public space landscape environment in the scenic spot is summarized. Lastly, according to the data analysis of the simulation experiment, the evaluation satisfaction of the activity atmosphere, plant configuration, and overall layout is improved by 4.2%, 3.7%, and 3.1% compared with other methods, which proves that this study has a more reasonable planning program to meet the various needs of public open space. The development of urban landscape design provides a valuable reference.

Analysis of Tourism Experience in Haizhu National Wetland Park Based on Web Text

Most studies on wetland parks focus on resource surveys and evaluations, park planning and design, and the construction of hardware facilities. Only a few studies have covered tourism experiences. With the rapid development of online media, online text data have become a prominent research direction for tourism experiences. Based on the web text analysis method and importance-performance analysis, Rost Content Mining 6 software was used. This served to analyze word frequency, semantic web analysis, and sentiment analysis, and to explain the web text about Haizhu National Wetland Park. It also helped to find problems experienced by tourists and their underlying reasons and proposed improvement strategies. The results showed that the overall quality of the tourism experience in Haizhu National Wetland Park was relatively high. However, some of the negative comments mainly focused on the lack of humanistic landscape construction, lagging infrastructure, and poor management services. By combining research results, improvement strategies were proposed that addressed infrastructure, management services, scenic spot publicity, ecological environmental protection, and so on. These could help to enhance tourism experiences.
