Conceptual Metonymy of COVID-19 Pandemic in Vietnam’s Online Newspapers

Conceptual metonymy which is based on the contingent relationship between a source concept and a target concept helps people perceive the world. The article discusses the concept and principles of conceptual metonymy and analyses the conceptual metonymy of COVID-19 pandemic used in official online newspapers published in Vietnam. 100 articles were selected for analysis. The study focuses on the "PLACE FOR EVENT" metonymy with the aim of shedding light on the Vietnamese’s cognitive ways of thinking. Vietnamese people tend to use the geographical location where the COVID-19 pandemic occurs as a substitute for the COVID-19 pandemic.

Gramsci in International Relations Theory: an analysis of concepts

This article derives from the I Virtual Meeting Regional Southeast promoted by IGS-Br and aims to historically introduce Antonio Gramsci in the Theory of International Relations (TRI) and discuss the main Gramscian concepts that are inserted in the theoretical debate of the area. Standing in the debate between Positivists versus Post-positivists, Gramsci exerts an important inflection in theoretical studies as concepts such as national-international, hegemony and State become central in the debate, new conceptual and methodological interpretation in the field of International Relations. And although Gramscian writings also advance in the international field, some authors such as Robert Cox, Stephen Gill, Craig Murphy introduce such concepts in the IRT, but do not delve with due merit. Such insertion demands a field of study with a more grounded analysis in Gramsci, both of its concepts and of the methods also in the international field.

Exploring the Landscape of Eco-Innovation: A Bibliometric Analysis of Concepts and Trends in the Manufacturing and Shipbuilding Industries

Eco-innovation (EI) as a conceptual approach has gained significant momentum in the transition of the manufacturing sector towards sustainability. This paper aims to contribute to the study of the research landscape on EI in the manufacturing industry by applying a bibliometric methodology and identifying prevailing trends and concepts used in academic literature. For this purpose, search engines such as Scopus and Web of Science (WoS) were utilized, along with analytical tools such as Bibliometrix, Microsoft Excel, and Gephi. The search was conducted using equations constructed from keywords deemed relevant to the objective, and the records obtained from the databases were consolidated into a single repository for joint analysis using the RStudio platform. The findings revealed an increase in scientific production from 2010 onwards. The analysis identified that the most influential authors, affiliations, and documents primarily originate from Spain, Germany, and China. The key concepts identified are the circular economy, eco-design, and green technologies, which provide a holistic framework for improving efficiency, reducing waste, and mitigating environmental impacts. EI promotes close collaboration between industries to reduce the ecological footprint. Nonetheless, there is a notable gap in research about EI in the shipbuilding industry, necessitating further exploration in the sector. This study lays a foundation for future investigations in this evolving domain.

Neurodynamics of Relational Aesthetic Engagement in Creative Arts Therapies

Aesthetic experiences, emerging saliently in the arts, play a pivotal role in transformative learning and creative processes that elicit physiological, affective, and cognitive responses associated with mental health indices. Interactions between subjects and aesthetic objects (e.g., visual artwork, music, and moving bodies) often entail elements of surprise and uncertainty that drive the inference of the hidden causes in the subject’s internal and external environment. These generate dynamics that align with the action-oriented Predictive Processing framework of brain function. Creative Arts Therapies (CATs) harness these dynamics by cultivating relational engagement using the arts modalities, prompting affective and cognitive processing. In this manuscript, we offer a review and conceptual analysis of recent empirical findings and theoretical premises that underpin aesthetic experiences and their relation to the psychotherapeutic use of the arts with a broad spectrum of populations and mental health conditions. We present a neuroscience-based approach to aesthetic intra- and inter-personal experiences, integrating therapeutic change factors of externalization-concretization, embodiment, and symbolization with functional network configurations, and interpersonal brain-to-brain coupling, to support predictive processing, learning, and creativity. Present and future interdisciplinary collaborations are underlined to elucidate the neurodynamic mechanisms driving psychological transformations, bridging neuroaesthetics and CATs.

Autonomous Vehicle Safety through the SIFT Method: A Conceptual Analysis

This study aims to provide a conceptual analysis of the dynamic transformations occurring in an autonomous vehicle (AV), placing a specific emphasis on the safety implications for pedestrians and passengers. AV, also known as self-driving automobiles, are positioned as potential disruptors in the contemporary transportation landscape, offering heightened safety and improved traffic efficiency. Despite these promises, the intricate nature of road scenarios and the looming specter of misinformation pose challenges that can compromise the efficacy of AV decision-making. A crucial aspect of the proposed verification process is the incorporation of the stop, investigate the source, find better coverage, trace claims, quotes, and media to the original context (SIFT) method. The SIFT method, originally designed to combat misinformation, emerges as a valuable mechanism for enhancing AV safety by ensuring the accuracy and reliability of information influencing autonomous decision-making processes.

TAX OFFENSE AND ITS QUALIFYING FEATURES

The article is devoted to the legal analysis of the tax offense concept, as well as the inclu­sion of the “guilt” institution to the tax offense definition in Ukrainian Tax Code. Attention is paid to such tax offense’s qualifying features as the committing an act by person intentionally, repeatedly or in presence of the cause-and-effect relationship between the act and its conse­quences. It has been found that the Tax Code of Ukraine does not contain a clear definition of the “guilt” concept, but it defines the conditions under which person is found guilty. In particular, two groups of such conditions are highlighted. The first group assumes that a person who had the opportunity to comply with the norms of tax legislation did not take sufficient measures to comply with them. At the same time, the second group of conditions for finding a person guilty of committing a tax offense is the duty of the tax authority to prove that the taxpayer acted «unreasonably, in bad faith and without due diligence». However, the author emphasized that for tax authorities, the Tax Code of Ukraine establishes responsibility for committing tax offenses regardless of the presence of guilt. Special attention is paid to the characteristics of intent in the actions of a person as a quali­fying feature of the tax offense. It has been substantiated that if the tax authority does not prove the fact that the taxpayer had the opportunity to comply with the tax legislation, but did not take sufficient measures to do so, such a taxpayer cannot be subject to liability measures for violating the requirements of the tax legislation. It has been noted that the confirmation of a person’s guilt can also be the commission of an ongoing and repeated offense. It has been established that the institution of guilt for tax offenses began to be applied in 2021, which was connected with the adoption of the Law of Ukraine «On Amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine on Improving Tax Administration, Eliminating Technical and Logical Inconsistencies in Tax Legislation».

Assessment of the impacts of artificial intelligence (AI) on intercultural communication among postgraduate students in a multicultural university environment

Artificial intelligence (AI) broadly influences different aspects of human life, especially human communication. One of the main concerns of the broad use of AI in daily interactions among different people could be whether it helps them interact easily or complicates their interactions. To answer the mentioned question, this study assessed the impacts of AI on intercultural communication among postgraduate students in a multicultural university environment. A newly developed survey instrument was used to conduct this study. The participants of this study were 115 postgraduate students from nine different countries. The descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, and Bivariate correlation tests of the 29th version of IBM-SPSS software were used to analyze the quantitative data, and inductive coding and conceptual content analysis were used to code and analyze the qualitative data. Based on descriptive results, the vast majority (93%) of the participants already used and experienced AI in their daily lives, and the majority of them believed that AI and AI technologies connect different cultures, reduce language and cultural barriers, and help people of different cultures to interact and be connected. Based on the results from the correlation test, there were strong positive correlations between AI attitudes and AI benefits, and also between AI regulation and AI benefits.

Гражданская религия как коммуникативная среда: концептуальный анализ

The article presents a conceptual analysis of civil religion as a special form of combining the sacred and the political. Having stated the need for social researchers to address the religious side of society in general and its political implications in particular, the author tries not only to reconstruct the genealogy of the term “civil religion”, but also to trace the differences between civil and political religion. Based on the analysis of the origins of the concept of civil religion, the author shows that its components — “civil” and “religious” — were introduced from two sources that are completely different in their spirit: the social philosophy of Jean-Jacques Rousseau and the sociological project of Emile Durkheim. Robert Bellah managed to combine the heuristics of both sources and offer a specific language for describing externally secular, but internally religious societies. Having thoroughly analyzed the three features of civil religion identified by Bellah, the author focuses on its functioning as a communication environment — a specific set of values that taboo or stimulate the articulation of certain political issues. The communication environment not only ensures the satisfaction of the needs of the state, within which a civil-religious cult is established, but also maintains a consensus on basic values, the undermining of which is fraught with the complete disintegration of society. According to the author’s conclusion, in order to talk about the presence of a civil religion in a polity, this polity must meet several criteria, including unambiguous consensus about sacred values, political decision-making justified via theology and values, as well as the “topological” nature of the development of a political cult. This is the main reason why this form of political life is relatively rare.

A conceptual analysis of Marma Chikitsa in Avabahuka

Acharya Sushruta has classified Avabahuka, a disease of the Amsa Sandhi (shoulder joint), under the eighty varieties of Vata Vyadhi. Amsa Shosha (wasting of the shoulder) can be considered as the preliminary stage of the disease, where loss or dryness of Sleshaka Kapha from Amsa Sandhi occurs. Its growing prevalence in today's world necessitates efficient management with quick and long-lasting effects. Therefore, in such cases, Marma Chikitsa, an alternate Ayurvedic therapy, can be recommended. Multiple sittings are required for better results. Avabahuka can be treated with improvements, regardless of its severity or duration. In this study, emphasis is laid upon eight specific Marma Sthana (or energy points) for the management of Avabahuka by considering the related literature. This conceptual study may prove beneficial from the clinical and surgical point of view.

International property rights for Cannabis landraces and terroir products. The case of Moroccan Cannabis and hashish

BackgroundIn recent years, the cannabis industry has evolved from a world defined by the simplicity and ubiquity of illegality of recreational drug cannabis to a world marked by the legal and geographic complexity of ongoing depenalisation, decriminalisation, and legalisation processes. Within this landscape where drug Cannabis plants and their many derivatives see their legal status change, Cannabis cultigens and end products are increasingly likely to becoming subject to protection by intellectual property rights. This article delves into the implications of these changes for traditional Cannabis farmers, particularly in the Global South, as they face economic and legal threats amidst global legalisation efforts. It examines the potential role of appellations of origin in protecting local Cannabis cultigens and end products, focusing on Moroccan Cannabis and hashish as a case study. MethodsThe text resorts to the treaties and agreements regulating international property rights and plant variety protection, but also to the concepts of terroir and landrace and their definitions, in order to determine, by way of treaty interpretation and conceptual analysis, what type of legal and economic protections can apply to Cannabis landraces and terroir products. The analysis is also based on previous empirical research published by the author. ResultsThe text argues that appellations of origin are the best intellectual property protections possible for landraces and terroir products because what needs to be protected is not innovation and individual ownership, but tradition and collective ownership, and because appellations of origin are suitable collective intellectual property rights. It shows that appellations of origin are best suited to protect terroir products and landraces because their originality and distinctiveness are place-based originality and distinctiveness. ConclusionThe text concludes that appellations or origin offer the only existing intellectual property protection for preserving the distinctiveness of terroir cannabis products, and for landrace conservation. It acknowledges that neither appellations of origin nor existing plant variety protection laws can be legal forms of control of third parties’ uses of landraces but that appellations of origin can help protect terroir products and landraces by way of their associated agro-ecosystems.

The study of texts by Kazakh zhyrau with the aim of identifying the peculiarities of conceptualizing universals of objective reality within the framework of Kazakh culture undoubtedly presents a significant interest for linguacultural researchers and ethnolinguists. The analysis of such material can provide valuable information about the structure and semantic content of nationally specific concepts. The study proves the interrelation of the concepts considered in the article, expands the idea of the whole conceptual system of Kazakh literature. The authors examined a series of universal concepts reflected in the poetic works of zhyraus, transformed by the worldview and understanding of the world of the Kazakh people, and became foundational elements of the national conceptual sphere. The research employed methods such as descriptive analysis, statistical analysis to identify the frequency of usage of certain words, and conceptual analysis to extract cognitive models. The results obtained during the analysis serve as a key to unlocking the culture, history, and mentality of the Kazakh ethnic group. The aim of the article is to study conceptual notions in the national language worldview of Kazakhs, related to representations of life and death, homeland, family, and other significant concepts in Kazakh linguaculture. The material for the study consisted of texts of zhyraus` poetry, as well as Kazakh proverbs and sayings. The considered problem is relevant in terms of studying the language of Kazakh poetry as a means of comprehending ethnic mentality

The Implementation of Advocate Immunity Rights in the Criminal Offense of Obstruction f Justice

Introduction: During the course of law enforcement, advocates may encounter interventions and face alleged threats and obstruction processes while defending their clients. This is addressed in Article 16 of the Advocates Law and Constitutional Court Decision No. 26/PUU-XI/2013. However, it is important to note that advocates can forfeit this right if they engage in the criminal offense of Obstruction of Justice. Objective: This research aims to explain how an attorney's immunity rights can be forfeited when they engage in the criminal offense of Obstruction of Justice. Method: This research employs a method commonly used in legal academia, focusing on statutory law and conceptual analysis. Results and Discussion: Understanding the importance of immunity rights is crucial for advocates as they carry out their profession. However, it is essential to be aware of the specific conditions that come with the use of these rights. Research Implications: The rules can be found in Article 16 of the Advocate Law. If advocates do not act in good faith and their actions are unrelated to their professional duties, they may be prone to committing acts of obstruction of justice. When fulfilling professional obligations, an advocate must prioritize the client's defense and act accordingly. In Article 16, the concept of good faith entails the fulfillment of professional responsibilities intending to promote justice and safeguard the client's interests following the law.

A Study of the Effects of Parental Psychological Control on Adolescents’ Self-control

With the development of research in educational psychology in recent years, adolescent self-control has gradually become an important research topic. The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between adolescents' self-control and parental control and how this relationship affects adolescents 'behavior and their psychological development. It is discussed through the methods of literature survey and conceptual analysis. The study found that the essence of parental psychological control is that parents achieve control by invading their children's inner world and undermining the development of their autonomy. This intrusive parenting style has a negative impact on adolescents' self-control through the family environment, parenting styles, and adolescents' coping styles. Based on these findings, we propose some recommendations for adolescents' self-control, in which parents should more actively support adolescents to make their own choices and develop their own sense of responsibility and decision-making skills.

A Theory of Justice and Social Mechanics

In this article, I argue that Aristotle, a universal philosopher who analysed both natural and social worlds, suggested a groundwork for a theory of justice, which is a fertile soil for a broader social perspective. Such categories as the social order, free will, law, policy choices, and the state are naturally flowing from his brief passage on justice in his Nichomachean Ethics. I assert that all of them are phenomena of turbulent social mechanics. Therefore, in this paper I introduce Aristotle’s contribution to the mainstream theory of justice and then, loosely relying on the works of Aristotle and Newton, I develop a theory of justice in the context of social mechanics. I conclude that the concept of justice is essentially the same as Newton’s third law of mechanics. For this purpose, I employ interdisciplinary and functional approaches, textual and conceptual analysis,and the method of deduction.

Critical Evaluation of Gadamer’s Interpretation of Plato’s Timaeus

In Idea and Reality in Plato's Timaeus (Idee und Wirklichkeit in Platos Timaios) Gadamer criticised the neoplatonist interpretation of Plato's cosmogony, which posited the universe's emanation from “The One'' in a hierarchical manner. Contrary to this, by interpreting Timaeus according to overall text analysis of Plato's dialectics, Gadamer argued that the universe came from the logos' efforts in organising various unordered materials to become more mathematically ordered. The purpose of this research was to critically evaluate his hermeneutical stance. A conceptual analysis has been conducted through an extensive and rigorous literature review to fulfill the research objectives. The result indicated that there was an inconsistency between Gadamer’s interpretation of Timaeus and his hermeneutical thesis in his masterpiece Truth and Method (Wahrheit und Methode). He interpreted Timaeus textually as if he had undermined his own philosophical hermeneutics framework, focusing on the pre-structure of understanding that contained prejudice and authority. This research will give a new perspective in reconsidering the complexities of interpretation itself and enrich ongoing dialogues both within the discourse on Plato's dialogues and Gadamer's own hermeneutical framework.

Philosophy and Ethics in Halal Tourism: A Conceptual Analysis

This research investigates the idea of Muslim-Friendly Tourism, specifically exploring its reassessment from the standpoint of philosophy and ethics. The underlying principles of this particular type of tourism encompass a commitment to Sharia, reverence for indigenous cultures, and a comprehensive comprehension of the Islamic faith. The concept of ethics in Muslim-Friendly Tourism pertains to the behaviour of tourists that demonstrates respect for local values and traditions, as well as appropriate conduct in Islamic settings. This study highlights the importance of maintaining a harmonious equilibrium between religious and cultural elements within the tourism industry. It emphasises the significance of cultivating a climate of mutual comprehension, as well as facilitating interfaith discourse and developing tolerance. The research elucidates that this particular notion yields favourable consequences for the regional economy, improves the perception of the destination, and generates great prospects for educational and cultural interchange. The notion is subject to ongoing development within the context of the progressively major and influential domain of tourism. This reevaluation offers a comprehensive analysis of the underlying principles that influence Muslim-Friendly Tourism, with a particular emphasis on the comprehension of religion, culture, and ethics within the tourism industry. The study highlights the significance of comprehending religion and culture within the context of tourism, emphasising the worth of engaging in interfaith and intercultural discussion. Within the realm of tourism, this phenomenon serves to enhance the local economy, foster cultural comprehension, and cultivate more robust international connections.

Postcolonial Federalism: A Conceptual Analysis for Tracing State-Formation in the Global South

This paper dissects and compares the British colonial venture in Nigeria, India, Pakistan, and Malaysia, and their historical journeys toward federalism. It explores whether these postcolonial federations align with Stepan’s categories of the genesis of federations. Expanding on Stepan’s contribution, the concept of postcolonial federalism develops a new lens to scrutinize the complex relationship between colonialism and federalism, especially for its proposed cases, highlighting their unique structuring through colonial socio-political engineering. Moreover, it argues that the creation of these federations was carried out to facilitate colonial administration with complete disregard for the existing linguistic, ethnic, cultural, and religious cleavages leaving federalization as the only alternative to gain sovereignty. Finally, this paper discusses the scope of postcolonial federalism and its unique characteristics compared to Stepan’s typology on the genesis of federations. This paper acts as a safeguard against the notion of the federal arrangement only being a product of democratic, liberal, and contractual phenomena. At the same time, the concept of postcolonial federalism offers a new lens to conduct further research on federalism in the Global South.

Analysis of modern concepts in psychology: the answer to the debaters

Debatable issues are discussed in the responses and comments of the debaters (9 papers) on a series of articles by A.L. Zhuravlev, E.A. Sergienko “Analysis of modern concepts in psychology. Part I. The experience of systematization of concepts”, “Analysis of modern concepts in psychology. Part II. Development of modern concepts by scientists of the Institute of Psychology of the Russian Academy of Sciences”, “System-network organization of modern concepts of psychology (using the example of developments by employees of the Institute of Psychology of the Russian Academy of Sciences)”, which were prepared on the basis of collective work “Development of concepts of modern Psychology” (2018, 2019, 2021). Most of the debaters discussed the system-network hypothesis of the organization of the conceptual space, paying little attention to the characteristics of modern concepts that we have highlighted. Judgments have been made about the polyparadigmatic nature of modern concepts, which on the one hand may contradict the pre-paradigm status of psychology (V.A. Mazilov), and on the other — to confuse the theoretical planning of research. Modern views on the polyparadigmality of psychology in the era of metamodern, constant interaction and mutual influence of different paradigms, not always reflected by the authors, were presented. The proposal to develop a system-network approach, taking into account the strength of connections and the degree of growth of hierarchies, becomes a task for further testing of this hypothesis. There may also be a different division of concepts than that undertaken by the authors, and this would show that the essence of their organization probably would not have changed. The prospects of our work may be further substantiation of the criteria for the allocation of psychological concepts, their place and significance in the socio-human sciences and strengthening interdisciplinary analysis. In part, some answers to the debatable questions are presented in a subsequent article by A.L. Zhuravlev, E.A. Sergienko, A.A. Fedorov “Bibliometric analysis of the three-volume work “Development of concepts of modern psychology” (2018–2021)” (2023) and the collective monograph “Scientific approaches in modern domestic psychology” (2023).

Can Quantum Contextuality Help to Understand the Contextuality of Theology?

ABSTRACT The precise formal account of the contextuality of the quantum measurement provided by the Kochen-Specker theorem allows for a unique insight into the nature of the contextuality of theological language. The conceptual analysis carried out in this paper has demonstrated that despite of the methodological difficulties in juxtaposing theoretical physics and theology, legitimate bridges can be established between them whereby quantum contextuality may serve as a model of contextuality in theology. A structural factor in the form of a richer logic proper to the Divine nature has been identified as the possible source of contextuality of theological discourse.
