The term "cultural landscape" is used in the Czech Republic and Slovakia in a wide range of contexts. The historical development of the concept of cultural landscape in the Czechoslovak academic sphere reflects the nature of landscape studies. The ever-expanding concept began to appear in more and more disciplines; in human, urban and regional geography, geology, landscape ecology, and was also studied from an environmental perspective. This thesis focuses on the analysis of the understanding of this term in the Czechoslovak context and its development in professional discussions. The subject is also how this academic understanding currently influences the setting of spatial planning systems in relation to landscape planning. It seeks to critically evaluate and provoke debate on the notion of cultural landscape and thus contribute to its clarification and rethinking research in contemporary Czechoslovak academic discourse. One of the purposes is also to evaluate the implications of scientific research on cultural landscapes in practice. The aim of the paper is to identify and analyse the main approaches of definitions of cultural landscape within different disciplines and historical periods. To evaluate how this concept has changed over time, what factors have influenced its interpretation and what influences the Czechoslovak scientific environment has had on its formation. In order to achieve the set objectives, a content analysis of scientific publications and scholarly studies from the Czechoslovak academic environment was carried out. A comparative method was used to compare different theoretical approaches to the concept of cultural landscape and their research methods. Also, an important observer was what research methods were used by different scientific disciplines. The understanding of the concept of "cultural landscape" in the Czechoslovak context was influenced by a strong geographical tradition, the historical development of the landscape and the legislative frameworks of nature conservation. In the early stages of research, the term focused mainly on the physical-geographical characteristics and uses of the landscape; in later periods, socio-cultural and historical aspects, in various interpretations, came to the fore. A significant milestone was the integration of ecological principles and the concept of sustainable development. The development of the understanding of the concept of 'cultural landscape' in the Czechoslovak academic environment has undergone significant changes, with its interpretation gradually expanding from a narrowly geographical perspective to multiple conceptions of cultural landscapes. This thesis contributes to a better understanding of the historical development and current perception of cultural landscape in the context of the Czech Republic and Slovakia, as this has a significant impact on legislation and practice.

Against the backdrop of the deepening adoption of sustainable development concepts, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) indicators have become increasingly important indicators for measuring a company's long-term value and competitiveness. This paper examines the business model practices of Three Squirrels, a well-known Chinese snack brand, in terms of environmental protection, social responsibility, and governance innovation, and analyzes the impact of these innovations on the company's financial and non-financial performance. The study found that Three Squirrels, through initiatives such as energy conservation and emission reduction, green logistics, photovoltaic power generation, employee care, public welfare initiatives, and transparent governance, has not only effectively reduced operating costs and potential risks but also significantly increased its market share, brand reputation, and social influence. This paper argues that ESG is not a burden on corporate development, but rather a new driving force for high-quality development and long-term competitive advantage. The conclusions of this study provide a valuable reference for Chinese companies to achieve transformation and upgrading within the context of ESG.

Responsible Tourism Education (RTE) is considered as an important tool to advance the concept of sustainable development. The components of RTE contribute significantly to the future workforce of tourism, which affects the practice of responsible tourism principles not only by self but also by insisting on their business operations and other stakeholders. Several review studies examined various aspects of responsible tourism such as attitudes, behavior, awareness, actions and so on, in the context of tourism stakeholders like tourists, hoteliers, travel agents and tour operators, destination management organizations. However, there are no studies examined in the literature in detail on RTE. In this regard, the study examines state of the research on RTE in terms of curriculum, teaching and learning, tools and technologies, methodologies, issues, challenges and advantages, and emerging trends. In doing so, the study constitutes a systematic literature review of the studies published in the Scopus- indexed outlets and adopts the PRISMA technique for search, inclusion and exclusion strategy. Total 40 studies were considered for the final review. Analysis shows that the responsible tourism education and related principles are mainly emphasized on eco-tourism and related destination planning and development. Studies examined responsible tourism principles such as local participation, economic aspects, national parks and protected areas, environmental education, conservation management, public attitude and perception. The study suggests that there is a need to advance sustainability discourses, particularly in the context of the RTE for higher tourism educational institutes, to adopt new trends and address the associated issues and challenges.

Abstract Guided by interviews with key protagonists and extensive archival research, this article reinterprets the escalation of the Colombian armed conflict during the critical period of the 1990s. It rejects conventional characterisations of the war as an ‘internal conflict’ and challenges dominant approaches based on state weakness and economic opportunity. Instead, the article situates the FARC’s rapid expansion against the background of the international political economy, linking the conflict’s escalation to changing social relations of production. Grounded in historical materialism, and particularly drawing on the concepts of uneven and combined development, passive revolution, crisis of authority, and war of movement, the article explains how the Colombian state’s reintegration into global capitalism deepened social fragmentation, displaced subaltern populations, generated new terrains of resistance, and provoked a spreading crisis of authority that the FARC strategically exploited. It is argued that the FARC’s expansion was not a symptom of criminal degeneration but a strategic political response enabled by Colombia’s passive revolutionary transformation within the uneven and combined dynamics of global capitalism. The article contributes to broader debates in security, international political economy, global development, historical sociology, and regional studies, inviting scholars to identify the underlying but not immediately visible dynamics shaping conflict and peace.

Both current and future global emergencies call for vast transformations of humanity. While this has been known for decades, the challenge of acting upon it remains. Even within academia, a growing body of articles has advocated for both higher education for sustainability as well as transdisciplinary research, yet most universities and academics struggle to change their ‘business as usual’. This article discusses how universities can and should support societal transformations through positioning care for all forms of life at their core as education and research institutes. Prioritizing care implies a different focus for universities, including a different concept of learning and development, namely one in which the world is continuously shaped and reshaped by all its inhabitants. Furthermore, this raises various ethical dilemmas, particularly when care for human life implies harm to non-human life. We review how the importance of reframing the knowledge-action gap by seeing learning as a process of action, which should happen in context and together, should be central in universities for the future. Last, we discuss two possible steps that can be taken today, namely (a) building co-creation labs and (b) integrating a sustainability mindset, content and actions in the curriculum of all disciplines to enable all disciplines to contribute to addressing planetary challenges. Some universities have well-integrated such transdisciplinary, transgressive and transformative practice within their research and education. However, in most universities, the usual disciplinary business is hard to transgress and these steps could form a start that supports building learning communities that prioritize care.

Vocational education plays a pivotal role in nurturing talent and supporting national development. However, challenges such as outdated talent development concepts, insufficient teacher training, and a lack of attention to soft skills cultivation from both schools and students have hindered the comprehensive development of secondary vocational students. This study aims to explore the direct effect of perceived teachers’ transformational leadership on the soft skills of 324 secondary vocational students in China and to examine the mediating role of students’ self-efficacy in this relationship. Using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), the results show that teachers’ transformational leadership has a significant positive effect on students’ soft skills (β = 0.33, p < .01). Moreover, self-efficacy partially mediates this relationship (indirect effect β = 0.07, p < .05), accounting for 22.6% of the total effect. These findings suggest that teachers’ inspirational motivation, individualized consideration, and intellectual stimulation directly foster students’ communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, while also indirectly strengthening them by enhancing students’ confidence. Practically, the study underscores the need for teacher training in transformational leadership and for policy initiatives that integrate soft skills into vocational curricula.

The subject of this study is a comprehensive typology of the global cognitive, spiritual, and moral shifts currently influencing the world economic system. The purpose of the study is to identify and classify the prevailing transformations in both individual and collective consciousness and spiritual content that is reflected in economic behavior and growth conditions at the global level. The relevance of this study arises from the necessity to fully incorporate the factors under consideration into the concept of economic development. The author employs the methods of content analysis and inductive research to examine processes encompassing such areas as knowledge, information, responsibility and culture, as well as the method of typological classification. The result of the analysis is to elucidate the mechanisms through which the examined shifts manifest themselves and interact within the global economic system. The novelty of this typology lies in its identification of complex properties and interrelations between cognitive and moral transformations and their underlying drivers, as well as their influence on economic development. The study reveals that each type of change has progressive characteristics, but their processes are uneven across countries and communities and may face problems of ambivalence, which complicates the analysis of feedback loops and their impact on global economic dynamics. Conceptually, this research is important for advancing theories of economic growth, sustainable development, and ethical economics. The author concluded that the suggested typology may be applied in developing policy principles aimed at more effectively harnessing the benefits of the information and knowledge revolution, fostering mutual respect among stakeholders, and promoting sustainable economic development.

The recognition of the decisive role of education in the development of society and man was the basis of the theory of human capital, which at the time became the theoretical prerequisite for the emergence of the concept of human development and its most important component. The theory of human capital represents a fundamentally new, qualitatively new approach to the social function of education. In many theories, education was considered either as a factor in increasing labor productivity or as a driving force for scientific and technical progress, but in all cases it was assigned a secondary, auxiliary role. Kasym-Jomart Tokaev pointed out the importance of developing human capital in the country at the plenary session of the Majilis on March 30, 2023. The President stated that it is necessary to consistently and systematically improve the quality of human capital. Only considering knowledge as capital, society could truly appreciate it, and it was the most valuable and reliable capital. Certain prerequisites for the concept of human capital were laid in classical political economy, Marxism and other currents of world economic thought, but it received a complete and clear formulation only in the 20th century. The scientific and public recognition of the theory of human capital and its development was significantly influenced by the participation of Peter Drucker, an outstanding representative of economic, managerial and social science of the 20th century. His article "Knowledge Revolution" caused a wide resonance in the scientific and political sphere. In it the author writes: "Education is modern real private capital. The development of state education is the most important tool for creating capital, and the number of educated people, the quality of their education and the use of this knowledge are the most important indicators of the country's ability to produce wealth"

The purpose of the article is to study the past experience of post-war reconstruction of countries' economies, the features of sustainable economic activity and sustainable financing, and on that basis to identify challenges/risks, and new opportunities/prospects for business, governments and the population of countries in the event of post-war reconstruction based on the principles of sustainable development. Methodology. The authors utilised a range of established fundamental research methods, including analysis and synthesis, historical and logical approaches. In addition, they employed special principles, criteria, taxonomies and standards specific to sustainable economic activity and sustainable finance. These serve as guidelines for identifying and assessing sustainable economy/finance. Results. The analysis of successful post-war economic reconstruction is facilitated by the utilisation of case studies, with examples drawn from Germany, Japan, Singapore, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and South Korea. In light of nearly a decade of experience following the formal endorsement of the concept of sustainable economic development at the global level (as approved in 2015 at the UN Climate Change Conference, UNCCC), nine pivotal components essential for effective post-war economic reconstruction on the basis of sustainability have been identified and examined. In this context, sustainable development is regarded as a comprehensive process aimed at harmonising social, economic and environmental components for the purpose of effective use, preservation and restoration of the natural environment.

The article highlights that cerebral palsy is a disorder of the nervous system characterized by persistent motor impairments and postural abnormalities resulting from brain damage at the early stages of its development. In Ukraine, there is a growing number of children diagnosed with this pathology, which determines the need for effective programs of physical culture and sports rehabilitation. Particular attention is paid to enhancing the functional independence and social adaptation of primary school-aged children with cerebral palsy in specialized rehabilitation centers for persons with disabilities. The study emphasizes that physical culture and sports rehabilitation of preschool children with cerebral palsy is an urgent issue that includes a complex set of tasks and provides opportunities to significantly improve the physical and psycho- emotional state of patients, facilitating their adaptation to social needs. The developed program of physical culture and sports rehabilitation is based on the principles of individualization, an interdisciplinary approach, and the active participation of the child in the recovery process. The program includes aquatic exercises, massage techniques (classical, segmental, and acupressure), breathing exercises, as well as the use of modern computerized simulators Tera-vital and Tera-balance, which contribute to the development of coordination skills, reduction of muscle spasticity, and improvement of balance. During the sessions, a pedagogical concept of motor function development is implemented, aimed at fostering independence, initiative, and positive motivation for physical activity.
