Over the past few decades, steel–concrete composite beam (SCCB) bridges have been gaining popularity all over the world. However, distresses such as rutting, delamination and cracking may occur on the corresponding bridge pavement structure soon after open traffic. To alleviate pavement distresses and clarify the applicability of different pavement structures and materials, in this study, a targeted research method for the mechanical properties of SCCB bridge deck pavement under temperature-load coupling was proposed. The research elements and procedures of the SCCB bridge deck pavement were structurally analyzed and synthesized. In addition, a temperature-load coupling model of SCCB bridge deck pavement was established. The permanent deformation under different cumulative axle load action times was calculated and fitted, and then compared with the actual detected data. Finally, the mechanical response of pavement structures commonly used for SCCB bridges was analyzed. The results show that the absolute error of rutting depth between the field test and fitting result was small, which proved the rationality of the proposed method. Besides, for SCCB bridges, “AC + SMA” and “double-layer SMA” have better road performance. The conclusion of this paper provides reliable support for the maintenance and distress causes analysis of SCCB bridge deck pavement.
