Artificial intelligence and human integration: a conceptual exploration of its influence on work processes and workplace learning

ABSTRACT This paper examines the influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on job and organizational processes, drawing on sociotechnical systems (STS) theory. It discusses the emergence of AI and its implications for HRD on individual, group, and organizational learning. AI has changed the trajectory of work processes and outcomes, paving the way for the future of work. An AI-human integration process model is proposed to reinforce its influence on job design in response to AI applications in the workplace. Learning is experienced between humans and between humans and AI. AI’s cognitive intelligence is capable of learning from each other through a process of deep learning. Humans, too, can learn from AI to modify their response towards working with AI-enabled applications. The model illustrates the relationships between individuals, work processes, and sociotechnical systems through multilevel interactions. Of relevance to HRD are two critical processes, namely learning and innovating, that facilitate the continuation of AI-human integration, enabling employees to embrace AI as an integral part of their work life. The paper offers several implications for HRD research and practice, recognizing opportunities for workplace learning and the potential constraints and risks arising from AI adoption that are applicable globally and internationally.

The rapid advancement of science and technology in the global era is currently felt in various fields of community life, especially in the fields of education, social and culture, including in boarding school education. In order to face the demands of society, community educational institutions including Islamic boarding schools must be functional, because educational institutions as a forum in society can be used as a gateway in facing the demands of society, science and technology that continue to change. Therefore, in order to become an ideal boarding school, it is necessary to organize the management and development of the boarding school. Islamic boarding school as one of the educational institutions that combines these three aspects, not only emphasizes the cognitive intelligence aspect, but also emphasizes the affective and psychomotor aspects, namely by teaching values and norms in accordance with Islamic law and equipping students with various skills (life skills). Pelatihan Literasi Membaca Nyaring Berbasis Sinektik Langsung dalam Pendidikan Karakter Anak di Desa Cingambul, Majalengka

Pandemic conditions have caused various changes, including in the world of education, in the learning process. Learning that started at school now takes place at home. There are some parents who complain about the difficulty of conditioning their children to be disciplined and willing to study at home with their parents. The impact of studying at home not only affects children's cognitive intelligence, but also aspects of attitude. The method of implementing the service, namely reading aloud training activities, is carried out as a form of anticipation of conditions that are getting worse or even as a solution to improve conditions that are not good. The results of the activity obtained a positive response showing that reading aloud based on direct synectics using fairy tales provides motivation to be enthusiastic about learning, to be a good and responsible child.

Implementation of Augmented Reality in Animal Introduction Learning for Students with Intellectual Disabilities

Introducing animals and their characteristics to mentally disabled students is a complicated matter. Mental retardation is a condition where a person's intellectual and cognitive intelligence is below average, which causes limitations in thinking, solving problems, remembering, and easily losing focus. Because of this, mentally disabled students develop more slowly than normal children their age. To help overcome developmental delays and improve their memory, special treatment and education are needed that suit their needs. Schools can utilize Augmented Reality (AR) technology as an alternative educational tool to make the teaching and learning process at school more fun, interesting and interactive so that it can leave a deep impression on students. This research aims to design and build an application to introduce animals by applying augmented reality technology. This research uses the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) method; in this method, there are six stages: concept, design, material collection, design, testing, and distribution, with the testing method using black box testing. This research results in an Android-based augmented reality application for animal recognition for mentally disabled students. This application can make the teaching and learning process more interesting and enjoyable for students and make it easier for teachers to introduce animals and their characteristics.

Hubungan Pemahaman Konsep Biologi Terhadap Etika Makan Sesuai Sunnah di MAN 1 Lombok Barat, Nusa Tenggara Barat

Understanding concepts has a very important role in teaching and learning activities and is the basis for achieving learning outcomes. In terms of understanding concepts, students are not limited to just knowing, but must be able to connect one concept to another. Even though national education aims to form people who are faithful and devout and have noble character, it does not only develop the potential for cognitive intelligence. This research aims to determine the relationship between students' understanding of biological concepts in the digestive system material and eating ethics according to the Sunnah at MAN 1 West Lombok. This research methodology uses a correlational method. The research population is students of MAN 1 West Lombok KLS XI in the 2023/2024 academic year. The sample in this study was KLS XIA as many as 20 people. Data was taken using test questions and questionnaires. The results of the research show: Understanding of Biological Concepts of Digestive System Material at MAN 1 West Lombok is classified into two categories, namely Good (45%), and Fairly Good (55%). Meanwhile, student behavior towards eating and drinking ethics according to the Sunnah at MAN 1 West Lombok is classified into three categories, namely very good (40%), good (55%), and quite good (5%). And correlation calculations show that there is no significant relationship between the understanding of biological concepts regarding the digestive system material and the ethics of eating and drinking according to the Sunnah at MAN 1 West Lombok, namely a significance value of 0.495 > 0.05.

Supporting cognitive intelligence for smart manufacturing systems using HMI design: challenges and fundamental issues

As the rate of digitalisation grows in the manufacturing sector, there is a need to address the manner in which design for the human experience is conceptualised. In industrial systems, user experience/user interface (UX/UI) as a paradigm does not fit in squarely, as industrial technologies require a blend of humans and technology for productivity. Thus, the aim of this article is to highlight the challenges and fundamental issues related to human-machine interaction (HMI) design in smart manufacturing from the disciplines of Human Factors and Interaction Design in terms of major themes: (1) designing for operator experience, (2) meaning-based analytics and design for complexity, and (3) human-centered design process for enabling reliability, maintainability, availability, and safety. These various challenges are depicted using a case study of HMI concept design for monitoring an additive manufacturing setup. The article concludes by discussing future steps for addressing HMI design in the manufacturing sector.

IJCM_358A: A Study of Adversity Quotient, Emotional Quotient and Spiritual Quotient among Medical Undergraduates in Nanded District of Maharashtra

Background: Medical Education deals with vast curriculum, human interactions and huge amount of stress. The changing scenario in medical education with introduction of CBME pattern, just having high Cognitive Intelligence is not enough to achieve academic success. With increasing stress in medical education and uncertainties like Covid-19, it is high time we think beyond Intelligence quotient for professional success. Adversity Quotient (AQ) is a measure of a person’s ability to cope with and overcome adversity. Emotional Quotient (EQ) measures person’s ability to identify and manage their own emotions as well as emotions of others. Spiritual Quotient (SQ) correlates to a person’s awareness and consciousness. Objectives: This study aims to assess AQ, EQ and SQ among Medical Undergraduate students and correlation between them. Methodology: A cross sectional study was conducted from November 2022 to October 2023 on 466 Medical Undergraduate students in Dr Shankarrao Chavan Government Medical college, Nanded, Maharashtra. Data was collected using predesigned, pretested, semi structured e-questionnaire. Data was compiled in MS Excel and analyzed using SPSS. Results: The participants included 262 males and 204 females. The mean AQ, EQ and SQ were 144.28, 329.81 and 57.14 respectively. The study showed high positive correlation between AQ and SQ (r=0.807; p= 0.000), AQ and EQ (r= 0.760; p= 0.000) and EQ and SQ (r= 0.871; p= 0.000) and correlation was significant at 0.01 level (2 tailed). Conclusion: This study concludes high positive correlation between AQ and SQ, AQ and EQ, EQ and SQ. Exploring these quotients helps students become more resilient and better prepared to cope up with the curriculum.

BDIQA: A New Dataset for Video Question Answering to Explore Cognitive Reasoning through Theory of Mind

As a foundational component of cognitive intelligence, theory of mind (ToM) can make AI more closely resemble human thought processes, thereby enhancing their interaction and collaboration with human. In particular, it can significantly improve a model's comprehension of videos in complex scenes. However, current video question answer (VideoQA) datasets focus on studying causal reasoning within events, few of them genuinely incorporating human ToM. Consequently, there is a lack of development in ToM reasoning tasks within the area of VideoQA. This paper presents BDIQA, the first benchmark to explore the cognitive reasoning capabilities of VideoQA models in the context of ToM. BDIQA is inspired by the cognitive development of children's ToM and addresses the current deficiencies in machine ToM within datasets and tasks. Specifically, it offers tasks at two difficulty levels, assessing Belief, Desire and Intention (BDI) reasoning in both simple and complex scenarios. We conduct evaluations on several mainstream methods of VideoQA and diagnose their capabilities with zero-shot, few-shot and supervised learning. We find that the performance of pre-trained models on cognitive reasoning tasks remains unsatisfactory. To counter this challenge, we undertake thorough analysis and experimentation, ultimately presenting two guidelines to enhance cognitive reasoning derived from ablation analysis.

In this research it is known that the programthafidz This is done once a week on Fridays and is carried out at different times for male and female students. Female students carry out the program.thafidz from 10:30-11:30 and for male students men 13:30-14:30. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method by means of interviews and observations.

Gene–environment pathways to cognitive intelligence and psychotic-like experiences in children

In children, psychotic-like experiences (PLEs) are related to risk of psychosis, schizophrenia, and other mental disorders. Maladaptive cognitive functioning, influenced by genetic and environmental factors, is hypothesized to mediate the relationship between these factors and childhood PLEs. Using large-scale longitudinal data, we tested the relationships of genetic and environmental factors (such as familial and neighborhood environment) with cognitive intelligence and their relationships with current and future PLEs in children. We leveraged large-scale multimodal data of 6,602 children from the Adolescent Brain and Cognitive Development Study. Linear mixed model and a novel structural equation modeling (SEM) method that allows estimation of both components and factors were used to estimate the joint effects of cognitive phenotypes polygenic scores (PGSs), familial and neighborhood socioeconomic status (SES), and supportive environment on NIH Toolbox cognitive intelligence and PLEs. We adjusted for ethnicity (genetically defined), schizophrenia PGS, and additionally unobserved confounders (using computational confound modeling). Our findings indicate that lower cognitive intelligence and higher PLEs are significantly associated with lower PGSs for cognitive phenotypes, lower familial SES, lower neighborhood SES, and less supportive environments. Specifically, cognitive intelligence mediates the effects of these factors on PLEs, with supportive parenting and positive school environments showing the strongest impact on reducing PLEs. This study underscores the influence of genetic and environmental factors on PLEs through their effects on cognitive intelligence. Our findings have policy implications in that improving school and family environments and promoting local economic development may enhance cognitive and mental health in children.

LANDASAN FILOSOFIS PENDIDIKAN SEBAGAI DASAR PENANAMAN KARAKTER

The aim of this research is to find out how the philosophical foundations of education view student character education. As an educational institution, schools are not only tasked with educating students and creating a good learning environment, but are also expected to develop good character in students. If in relation to learning, national education must be accessible to students, then schools must also be able to shape students' characters better. We know that students are great imitators of adults, positive attitudes, let alone negative attitudes, are easy for students to imitate. Therefore, teachers must always show good character to their students, and the nation's prospective students are expected to have good character in addition to cognitive intelligence. The research method uses a library research approach, where previous research is summarized from library sources, documents and scientific journals. The information collected is analyzed to achieve in-depth understanding through library research by processing and collecting various types of secondary data from the surrounding environment. This philosophical foundation becomes a guideline that guides the creation of a comprehensive character education program, including ontological, epistemological and axiological aspects. The philosophical foundation thus not only provides a conceptual basis, but also a practical basis that guides the implementation of character education.

Pengaruh Kecerdasan Intelektual dan Kecerdasan Emosional terhadap Classroom Management Dengan Internal Locus of Control Sebagai Variabel Intervening (Studi Pada Guru SD Daerah Binaan 3 Koordinator Wilayah Kecamatan Tegal Barat)

This study aims to research and analyze the impact of cognitive intelligence and emotional intelligence on internal control, as well as the impact of cognitive intelligence, emotional intelligence, and internal control on classroom management. The subjects of the study consisted of elementary school teachers in Region 3, West Tegal District, Tegal City, with a total of 80 respondents. The sampling method used is the Saturated Sampling Technique, where the entire population is sampled. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires, and data analysis using regression tests with mediation techniques. The results showed that cognitive intelligence has a positive impact on internal control, as well as emotional intelligence. However, cognitive intelligence does not have a significant impact on classroom management. On the other hand, emotional intelligence has a positive impact on classroom management. Internal control also has a positive impact on classroom management, and acts as a mediator in the relationship between cognitive intelligence and classroom management.

The Effect of Small Sided Games and Dynamic Passing Training on Improving Cognitive Intelligence and Vo2max Ability of Football Players

The game of soccer is a team game played by two teams where each team has 11 players, with the aim of scoring as many goals as possible. This study used small sided games and dynamic passing training methods, aiming to determine the effect of small sided games and Dynamic Passing training on improving cognitive intelligence and VO2Max ability of soccer players. This research is a quasi-experimental research, with a research design of two groups pretest and posttest design. The sample in this study amounted to 19 children. The data analysis technique uses a t-test with a significance value of 0.05 assisted by the SPSS application version 25. Based on the results of digit span test data analysis, the treatment group received a sig value. 0.361 and a control group of SIG. 0.375, due to differences in respondent characteristics, background cognitive abilities and the small number of respondents. Meanwhile, from the results of VO2Max data analysis, the treatment group obtained sig values. 0.005 and a control group of SIG. 0.045, because in the preparation of its exercise program it has applied important factors in increasing endurance. Then the results of the independent sample t-test t-test digit span test get a sig. 0.157 and VO2Max test results get sig. 0.333. The conclusion in this study is (1). There was no significant effect of small sided games and dynamic passing on cognitive intelligence. (2). There is a significant effect of small sided games and dynamic passing exercises on Vo2Max Ability. (3). There was no significant difference in the effect of small sided games and dynamic passing on cognitive intelligence and Vo2Max ability.

Presenting an evolutionary model of entrepreneurial intelligence components in women: approaches to opportunity discovery and creation

PurposeA better understanding of the characteristics and capabilities of women entrepreneurs can significantly improve their chances of success. Therefore, three studies were conducted for this exploratory paper. We have discovered the characteristics of entrepreneurial intelligence among female entrepreneurs through semi-structured interviews based on conventional content analysis. According to the second study, qualitative meta-synthesis was utilized to identify characteristics of women's entrepreneurial intelligence at the international level. As a third study, we examined the evolutionary relationships of entrepreneurs' intelligence components following the discovery and creation of opportunities.Design/methodology/approachThe present paper was based on three studies. In the first study, 15 female entrepreneurs were interviewed using purposive sampling in the Guilan province of Iran to identify the characteristics of entrepreneurial intelligence at the national level. An inductive content analysis was performed on the data collected through interviews. Using Shannon entropy and qualitative validation, their validity was assessed. In the second study, using a qualitative meta-synthesis, the characteristics of women's entrepreneurial intelligence were identified. Then the results of these two studies were compared with each other. In the third study, according to the results obtained from the first and second studies, the emergence, priority and evolution of entrepreneurial intelligence components in two approaches to discovering and creating entrepreneurial opportunities were determined. For this purpose, interviews were conducted with 12 selected experts using the purposeful sampling method using the fuzzy total interpretive structural modeling (TISM) method.FindingsIn the first research, this article identified the components of entrepreneurial intelligence of women entrepreneurs in six categories: entrepreneurial insights, cognitive intelligence, social intelligence, intuitive intelligence, presumptuous intelligence and provocative intelligence. In the second study, the components of entrepreneurial intelligence were compared according to the study at the national level and international literature. Finally, in the third study, the evolution of the components of entrepreneurial intelligence was determined. In the first level, social intelligence, presumptuous intelligence and provocative intelligence are formed first and social intelligence and provocative intelligence have an interactive relationship. In the second level, entrepreneurial insight and cognitive intelligence appear, which, in addition to their interactive relationship, take precedence over the entrepreneur's intuitive intelligence in discovering entrepreneurial opportunities. With the evolution of the components of entrepreneurial intelligence in the opportunity creation approach, it is clear that intuitive intelligence is formed first at the first level and takes precedence. At the second level, there is cognitive intelligence is created. At the third level, motivational intelligence and finally, at the last level, entrepreneurial insight, social intelligence and bold intelligence.Originality/valueThis study has the potential to discover credible and robust approaches for further examining the contextualization of women's entrepreneurial intelligence at both national and international levels, thereby advancing new insights. By conceptualizing various components of entrepreneurial intelligence for the first time and exploring how contextual factors differ across nations and internationally for women's entrepreneurship, this paper challenges the assumption that the characteristics of women's entrepreneurial intelligence are uniform worldwide. It also depicts the evolution of the components of entrepreneurial intelligence.

Toward recognizing characteristics of women’s entrepreneurial intelligence: a comparative study

PurposeRecognizing women’s potential and directing their talents to realize these potentials can be of great benefit. Accordingly, this paper aims to identify the characteristics of entrepreneurial intelligence in female entrepreneurs, drawing on a national-level study and the international literature on this topic.Design/methodology/approachThe present paper conducted two studies. First, 15 female entrepreneurs in the Guilan province of Iran, who were selected using purposive sampling, were interviewed to identify the characteristics of entrepreneurial intelligence nationally. The data gathered by interviews were analyzed using inductive content analysis. Then, their validity was tested using qualitative validation and analyzed using Shannon entropy. In the second study, the characteristics of female entrepreneurial intelligence were identified through a qualitative metasynthesis. The results of the two studies were compared together.FindingsThis categorized entrepreneurial intelligence into six categories, namely, entrepreneurial insights, cognitive intelligence, social intelligence, intuitive intelligence, presumptuous intelligence and provocative intelligence. Ultimately the characteristics of women’s entrepreneurial intelligence in each category were compared according to the national-level study and the international literature.Originality/valueThis study has the potential to discover credible and robust approaches for further examining the contextualization of women’s entrepreneurial intelligence at both national and international levels, thereby advancing new insights. By conceptualizing various dimensions of entrepreneurial intelligence for the first time and exploring how contextual factors differ across nations and internationally for women’s entrepreneurship, this paper challenges the assumption that the characteristics of women’s entrepreneurial intelligence are uniform across the world.

Mutual-cognition for proactive human–robot collaboration: A mixed reality-enabled visual reasoning-based method

Human-Robot Collaboration (HRC) is key to achieving the flexible automation required by the mass personalization trend, especially towards human-centric intelligent manufacturing. Nevertheless, existing HRC systems suffer from poor task understanding and poor ergonomic satisfaction, which impede empathetic teamwork skills in task execution. To overcome the bottleneck, a Mixed Reality (MR) and visual reasoning-based method is proposed in this research, providing mutual-cognitive task assignment for human and robotic agents’ operations. Firstly, an MR-enabled mutual-cognitive HRC architecture is proposed, with the characteristic of monitoring Digital Twins states, reasoning co-working strategies, and providing cognitive services. Secondly, a visual reasoning approach is introduced, which learns scene interpretation from the visual perception of each agent’s actions and environmental changes to make task planning strategies satisfying human–robot operation needs. Lastly, a safe, ergonomic, and proactive robot motion planning algorithm is proposed to let a robot execute generated co-working strategies, while a human operator is supported with intuitive task operation guidance in the MR environment, achieving empathetic collaboration. Through a demonstration of a disassembly task of aging Electric Vehicle Batteries, the experimental result facilitates cognitive intelligence in Proactive HRC for flexible automation.

Comparison of intelligent development (IQ & EQ) of children with cleft lip and palate

Background: Attention to the issue of intelligence and its promotion in children with cleft lip and cleft palate (CL and CP) is necessary to reduce their injuries in life. This study aimed to determine the intelligence quotient (IQ) and emotional intelligence (EQ) in children with CL and CP in comparison to healthy children. Materials and Methods: In this descriptive study, 140 children, including 70 children with CL and CP, were selected from the Children treated in Craniofacial and Cleft Research Center, Spearman correlation, ANOVA and 70 healthy children were selected from the Pediatric Dentistry Department of Isfahan University, in the age range of 5–9 years. After obtaining the consent of the children's parents, the Raven IQ questionnaire and the Mayer and Salovey EQ questionnaire were given to the children. Data were analyzed by the Pearson correlation coefficient tests (α =0.05). Results: EQ score in healthy children was significantly higher than in children with CL and CP (P < 0.001). The percentage of IQ cognitive intelligence in healthy children and children with CL and CP was not significantly different (P = 0.641). In healthy children, no significant relationship was observed between cognitive intelligence IQ and EQ (r = 0.018, P = 0.882). However, among children with CL and CP, there was a significant inverse relationship between cognitive intelligence IQ and EQ (P < 0.001, r = −0.526). Conclusion: CL and CP have no effect on IQ in children, but it does affect EQ.

Digital Game as A Media to Increase Cognitive Intelligence of 13-18 Years Old Teenagers

Nowadays, Cognitive Intelligence plays an essential role especially on making decisions. The growth of digital media makes public thinks that video games are addictive. They think that video games are addictive and damaging. Games are design to refresh, challenge and help people to train their problem solving. In this research, the researcher explored the cognitive development of teenagers aged 13-18 with a puzzle-based digital game. Participants were 15 students studying in junior and senior high school. Participants were given three tests: pre-test and post-test by IQ test and a Game Engagement Questionnaire (GEQ) to explore the game's engagement from the participants' perspective. The average of Pre-Test is 113.2, while the Post-Test is 118.33. This Show that after playing the games it increases the IQ of the students. The researcher also discovered that many factors could influence the outcome of participant IQ. The GEQ shows that the participants agreed that some of the puzzle-based game might be a good or bad influence on them.
