ABSTRACT A checklist and synopsis of the family Braconidae (Hymenoptera) that are present in New Zealand is provided. The fauna consists of 17 subfamilies, 74 genera, and 147 described species (99 indigenous, 48 exotic). A large portion of the taxonomic names previously listed in the catalogue of Valentine and Walker (1991) have changed or are new. Twenty-five new indigenous species have been described in the last ten years and 57 species since the year 2000. Two species previously recorded are now not considered present, Fopius carpocapsae (Ashmead, 1900) and Parallorhogas pallidiceps (Perkins, 1910). Currently 83% of genera and 52% of described species in New Zealand have a COI barcode sequence. The indigenous Braconidae fauna is estimated at over 400 species, indicating only ∼25% of indigenous species are currently described.

In order to determine Braconidae fauna of Turkey, adult specimens of Braconidae (Hymenoptera) are collected from different habitats of Bingöl, Bitlis, Muş and Van provinces with using Malaise and light traps and sweeping nets between 2015 and 2019. The collected materials are prepared and labelled. In addition, appropriated literature are used for taxonomical examination of the obtained material. The altitudes and coordinates of localities and collection dates are presented. A total of 3 species in 2 genera of Brachistini are determined. From these species Foersteria polonoca Fahringer, 1934 is firstly record in the fauna of Turkey. However, Schizoprymnus (Schizoprymnus) bidentulus (Szépligeti, 1901) and S.(S.) elongatus (Szépligeti,1898) have been discovered. These two species are for the first records in the research area.

This study was performed in order to determine the Braconidae fauna of meadows and forest areas around Gala Lake National Park. Samples were collected from June to October 2011 in selected pasture, forest, and rice agricultural areas. As a result of the study, a total of 38 taxa species belonging to 12 genera within 5 subfamilies were identified. Among the species identified, four species [Eubazus (Brachistes) gigas, Triaspis thoracica, Pseudovipio deserti, Opius (Opius) trucantulus] were recorded for the first time in Turkey and four species [Bracon (Bracon) kozak, Pseudovipio inscriptor, Opius (Opius) quasipulvis, Aleiodes (Neorhogas) ductor] were recorded for the first time in the Thrace region.

Three small genera of the subfamily Doryctinae are newly recorded for the Braconidae fauna of Vietnam, viz. Euscelinus Westwood, 1882; Leptospathius Szépligeti, 1902 and Sonanus Belokobylskij & Konishi, 2001. Five new species of these genera are described and illustrated, namely Euscelinus vietnamicus Long, sp. n.; Leptospathius langsoni Long, sp. n.; Leptospathius phamvanluci Long, sp. n.; Leptospathius simulatus Long, sp. n. and Sonanus mocchaui Long, sp. n.. The checklist and distribution of the already known species of three genera are provided. Keys to species of the genera are also given. From the serial studies of the Braconidae fauna of Turkey, the subfamily Doryctinae was treated. Adult specimens were collected from various habitats of Turkey between 1979 and 2013. In total, 58 species belonging 25 genera were reported for the studied region, among which 52 species were recorded for the first time from Turkey. In order to determine the Braconidae fauna of Turkey, adult specimens of Opiinae were collected from various habitats of the Turkish northeastern Anatolian region using Malaise and light traps and sweeping nets between 2012 and 2014. In total, 86 species belonging to 7 genera are reported for the studied regions, among which 22 are recorded for the first time from Turkey: Biosteres (Biosteres) analis (Wesmael), Biosteres (Chilotrichia) clypealis (Thomson), B. (C.) sylvaticus (Haliday), Phaedrotoma zomborii (Papp), Opius (Adontopius) adentatus Fischer, O. (A.) nanosoma Fischer, Opius (Agnopius) austriacus Fischer, O. (A.) novosimilis Fischer, O. The Braconidae fauna (Agathidinae and Doryctinae, excluding Heterospilus Haliday) of the Ria Lagartos Biosphere Reserve in Yucatan, Mexico are recorded. Eighty-three species and 29 genera were found; of these 62 species are new records for Mexico. The general distribution and flight period of the taxa collected are provided.

During studies on the Braconidae fauna of the Black Sea, Central Anatolian and Eastern Anatolian regions of Turkey 2 new species, Bracon (Lucobracon) kuzguni sp. n. and Bracon (Lucobracon) breviradius sp. n., were recorded and described. Important morphological diagnostic characters are fi gured and they are compared with the related species, B.(L.) triangularis Nees, 1834 and B. (L.) brachycerus Th omson, 1892 respectively.

Analysis of the Braconidae (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonoidea) fauna richness in natural remnants of the Área de Proteção Ambiental (APA) of Descalvado, SP.A survey of the Braconidae fauna on fragmentary natural environments at northeast São Paulo State was conducted using Malaise traps installed in five sites of Área de Proteção Ambiental of Descalvado.A total of 2,262 specimens, representing 22 subfamilies and 94 genera, was sampled throughout a period of sixteen months (from May, 1999 to August, 2000).Biological data were obtained from current literature and behavior patterns of host utilization for the studied fauna, mainly Braconidae which have been successful in control of agricultural insect pests.Statistical analyses indicated that the asymptote of the genera richness has been approached using this sampling method.This is the most complete survey yet available from natural fragmentary areas of the Descalvado Braconidae fauna.Patterns of distribution and richness of the Braconidae genera were established.Cluster Analysis was adopted taking as attribute the number of Braconidae genera.

Phenology of the Braconidae (Hymenoptera, Ichneumonoidea) at Area de Protecao Ambiental of Descalvado, Sao Paulo State. The flight phenology of the Braconidae fauna was conducted using Malaise traps in five sites of the Environmental Protected Area of Descalvado. A total of 2,792 specimens, representing 22 subfamilies, was sampled throughout a period of sixteen months from May, 1999 to August, 2000. The traps catches for koinobionts peak was in August, 1999 a month before of the idiobionts peak and in June, 2000 both peaks were simultaneous. The phenological peaks of dominant koinobiont taxa (Microgastrinae) were similar to all koinobionts, and the peaks of dominant idiobiont taxa (Doryctinae) were similar to all idiobionts, as well. December, 1999 and February, 2000 were the richer months in number of subfamilies (N= 19 and 18, respectivaly), corresponding to the same period when the subfamilies which potentially attack Lepidoptera where collected. The number of females was superior to the number of males and this relation was more accentuated in koinobionts. The peaks of both females and males were similar to dominate koinobiont and idiobionte taxa.
