Developing reading skills in English as a foreign language (EFL) constitutes a persistent pedagogical challenge, particularly in contexts where learners have limited exposure to the target language beyond the classroom. The main goal was toanalyze the use of gamified reading platforms to support the development of reading and comprehension skill from students at Pajan Public School. Platforms such as Raz-Kids, ReadTheory, Epic! and CommonLit combine educational technology with elements of gamification, fostering learner engagement while supporting the development of reading comprehension and written production skills. This project adopts a mixed-method approach, combining bibliographic analysis and field data collection through teacher surveys, to generate practical and contextualized knowledge that enriches the teaching and learning of English through artificial intelligence. Empirical evidence from recent educational studies indicates that the systematic use of digital reading platforms contributes to increased reading motivation and significant improvements in comprehension outcomes, particularly among students in primary and lower secondary education. Nevertheless, the effective implementation of these tools is contingent upon several contextual conditions, including equitable access to technological resources, reliable internet connectivity, adequate teacher training, and thoughtful curricular integration aligned with instructional objectives.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative force in language education offering innovative solutions for personalized instruction, real-time feedback, and inclusive learning environments. While several systematic reviews have explored AI in language learning broadly, few have specifically targeted generative AI using a combined Systematic Literature Review (SLR) and Bibliographic Coupling Analysis (BCA). This study fills this gap by synthesizing findings from 19 peer-reviewed articles published between 2020 and 2024 in the Web of Science database, using a dual approach that combines a SLR and Bibliographic Coupling Analysis to explore the educational potential and thematic development of AI in language learning. The review examines how AI facilitates adaptive learning paths, enhances language skills development, supports assessment and teacher roles, improves accessibility for diverse learners, and raises critical ethical and cross-cultural considerations. Using the PRISMA framework to guide the selection and synthesis process, and bibliographic coupling to identify intellectual linkages, the analysis reveals six main research clusters: personalized and adaptive learning, language skill enhancement, AI-driven assessment, inclusivity and accessibility, ethical and critical engagement, and system usability. According to the literature, AI supports learner autonomy, promotes engagement, and addresses various learner needs, although challenges such as digital inequality, algorithmic bias, and over-reliance on technology persist. In alignment with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, this study underscores the importance of inclusive, ethical, and learner-centred AI integration. Future research should address the long-term impacts of AI in education, ensure equitable access, and balance technological advancement with pedagogical integrity. This review provides practical recommendations for integrating generative AI into language classrooms, highlights the pedagogical opportunities and challenges associated with AI adoption and outlines future research directions related to long-term learning outcomes and equitable AI implementation.

Soil is an essential natural resource for the functioning of the terrestrial ecosystem, composed of liquid, gaseous, and solid fractions, responsible for physical-chemical and biological processes such as nutrient cycling and fixation, gas exchange, pollutant degradation, and element retention. However, anthropogenic activities and natural processes can compromise the stability and environmental quality of this resource. The objective of this study was to relate activities that intensify terrestrial impacts to the types, compositions, and forms of soil contaminants, as well as to indicate mitigation strategies. A deductive method was adopted, with a qualitative approach, basic nature, and descriptive procedure. The data were secondary, obtained through bibliographic research in academic materials, organized in a systematic way. The results show that contaminants can be generated and transported naturally by soil fractions, but are intensified by anthropogenic actions. Substances such as agrochemicals, heavy metals, residual fertilizers, explosives, parasites, solid waste, and inadequate irrigation practices promote contamination through infiltration, leaching, or volatilization, affecting surface and groundwater and the food chain. The consequences include yield losses, crop and biota poisoning, bioaccumulation of metals, disease spread, and soil infertility. It is concluded that techniques such as phytoremediation, bioremediation, chemical correction, soil mapping, and proper waste management are fundamental, reinforcing the need for sustainable management policies and continuous monitoring to ensure soil conservation and environmental quality.

To analyze the state of forensic nursing in China and to provide guidance for advancing clinical forensic nursing practice. Research literature on forensic nursing was retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) and the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) databases. Bibliometric methods were used to analyze and synthesize the literature. The analysis was based on a total of 1,071 international publications (from WOSCC) and 8 key Chinese publications (from CNKI). The international forensic nursing literature reflected a mature field with current hotspots centering on sexual assault, trauma-informed care, and emergency nursing. In contrast, the Chinese literature was limited in volume and focused primarily on theoretical content. A developmental gap exists between the global and Chinese research landscapes in forensic nursing. Establishing forensic nursing education and programs, professional workforce, and practice standards aligning with international trends would support the systematic advancement of forensic nursing in China.

The rapid expansion of anaerobic digestion (AD) as a key technology for producing renewable energy has led to a substantial increase in digestate generation. This has intensified the need for sustainable management strategies that align with circular economy principles. While the solid fraction of digestate (SD) is traditionally applied to land or composted, its heterogeneous composition, regulatory constraints, and handling challenges restrict its wider use. This review aims to clarify the current state of SD treatment and highlight emerging opportunities to convert this underexploited resource into value-added bioproducts. A systematic bibliographic analysis of the past decade was conducted to identify consolidated and emerging SD valorisation technologies, supported by an evaluation of EU-level regulatory frameworks and the role of mechanical solid–liquid separation in enabling downstream valorisation. In addition, a comprehensive comparative table compiling physicochemical characterisation data of SD from various feedstocks and separation methods is presented, emphasising the significant variability in composition and its implications for valorisation pathways. The results show that, while composting and thermochemical routes, particularly pyrolysis, remain predominant, novel approaches such as advanced drying, pelletisation, vermicomposting, insect bioconversion, and fermentation-based pathways (including submerged and solid-state fermentation) are rapidly gaining interest. These emerging technologies enable the production of high-value products such as biochar, pellets, enzymes, microbial biopesticides, protein sources, and fungal biomass. However, their adoption is currently limited by feedstock heterogeneity, process complexity, scalability constraints, and economic considerations. Overall, SD is a versatile feedstock whose valorisation is expanding beyond agricultural applications. However, regulatory harmonisation, quality assurance, and process optimisation are still needed to encourage industrial uptake and to fully integrate SD into circular bioeconomy frameworks.

ABSTRACTBackgroundTo conduct a bibliographic analysis of English language foot and ankle research pertaining to rheumatology published by Australian authors.MethodsThe Scopus database search was conducted to identify all Australian rheumatology articles published by podiatric authors in English from 1970 to 2024. Bibliometric analysis was performed using an open‐source tool based on the R language. Citations, journals, authors, institutions and countries were described. Publications were manually categorised according to research type, level of evidence and funding source.ResultsThe search strategy yielded 89 eligible articles, which received a total of 2438 citations and were published by 200 authors. The most frequent journals were Arthritis Care & Research and Osteoarthritis and Cartilage each with 9 articles or 10% of total publications. The most published institution was La Trobe University (affiliation of 151 authors). Most of the Australian rheumatology articles focused on the evaluation of treatments and therapeutic interventions (n = 35; 39%) and 11 articles (12%) provided Level I evidence. Forty‐two publications (47%) were supported by Category 1 funding, however, 29 (33%) reported no research funding.ConclusionRheumatology represents just 5% of Australian podiatry research. Despite this, it attracts high citation rates relative to number of publications and is well supported by Category 1 funding in comparison to other research fields. Funding sources outside of competitive Category 1 grants appear to be limited however, and research scope is narrow with a high number of evaluative studies conducted. Rheumatology research would benefit from an increase in available funding sources and a broader research scope that informs disease prevention and evidence‐based clinical care.

Uro-oncology, a multidisciplinary field at the intersection of urology and oncology, holds a pivotal role in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of genitourinary cancers. Quantitative and qualitative evaluation of scientific publications, particularly review articles, in the field of uro-oncology provides comprehensive insights into the research landscape. This study provides a scientometric and bibliographic analysis of systematic reviews and meta-analyses in this field based on publications indexed in Scopus between 2020 and 2025. Employing a descriptive-analytical design, we analyzed publication trends, citation patterns, core journals, key authors, and collaboration networks using bibliometric tools like R (Bibliometrix, Biblioshiny) and VOSviewer. Our findings reveal a notable decline in the annual growth rate of publications (-63.18%) and a significant reduction in average citations per article. While core journals such as Cancers, Frontiers in Oncology, and International Journal of Molecular Sciences dominate the field, inconsistencies in Scopus metadata, particularly missing citation counts and science categories, limit the accuracy of bibliometric analysis. Despite these challenges, key researchers and consistent focus on areas like immunotherapy and biomarker development are evident. The study highlights the need for better data curation, targeted funding, and stronger international collaboration to revitalize uro-oncology research.

The training of teachers in Communication and Information Technologies (ICT) is a basic prerequisite for upgrading the quality of education. In the international literature, reference is often made to the process of transition from a technocentric approach, which aims at the acquisition of technical skills, to a more oriented pedagogical perspective, which utilizes new technologies as a means to transform learning and shape teaching innovations. Through the bibliographic analysis, the effects of distance training programs on teachers, teaching, teaching innovation, and in general on the strengthening of the learning process are presented. This study constitutes a systematic qualitative literature review that attempts to highlight the need for training programs that combine theory with practice, promote modern teaching methods and techniques, utilize the experiences and experiences of teachers, while at the same time satisfying their real needs. Through a critical narrative review of international literature (1995-2025), the present study identifies consistent evidence that insist distance ICT training enhances teachers self-efficacy and pedagogical use of technology, while also revealing a persistent gap between technical training and pedagogical transformation.Particular emphasis is placed on collaborative practices, educational design that creatively utilizes ICT, but also on cultivating a critical attitude towards technology. After all, the transition from a technocentricto a pedagogical model of training requires both the acquisition of knowledge and skills, as well as a change of philosophy that leads to more creative and meaningful forms of learning for students and teachers.

This article investigates the paradox of "empty connectivity" among public school adolescents, where immersion in digital devices contrasts with the superficiality of pedagogical use. Based on a bibliographic analysis of authors such as Kenski, Selwyn, and Carr, it is argued that the predominant use for social networks and the uncritical reproduction of information is associated with insufficient academic performance and psychosocial consequences such as anxiety and the weakening of self-efficacy. It is concluded that overcoming this scenario requires qualified teacher mediation, critical digital literacy, and systemic public policies, inspired by models such as the Ceibal Plan (Uruguay), to transform digital access into a critical appropriation of knowledge.

ABSTRACT The aim of this article is to show how international expositions held in two tourist destinations, Rio de Janeiro and Barcelona, can be understood as kaleidoscopic events allowing varied interpretations within the context of tourism. Few studies have been conducted in relation to the urban cultural landscape articulating tourism and history from a series of space–time constructs specifically related to the International Expositions of the Centenary of the Independence of Brazil (Rio de Janeiro, 1922) and of Barcelona (1929), from the perspective of tourist destinations whose urban physiognomy was considered in their design. This research is exploratory, descriptive and qualitative in nature, based on a bibliographical review and analysis of secondary data. The findings reveal a laboratory of innovation in terms of contemporary perceptions of the past, present and potential future contributions of these kaleidoscopic events to tourism. The buildings erected for the Expositions, which were based on European references and survived subsequent urban change, became tourist attractions to be visited and re-appropriated in the following time periods. However, in both cities, tourism has been shaped by the imposition of a calendar of cultural, sporting and celebratory events, which has often overshadowed the establishment of new tourist products and segments.
