The Impact of Autonomous Vehicles on Cities

Autonomous vehicles are a double-edged sword, bringing happiness and convenience to peoples lives but also silently creating various crises and bad effects. The purpose of this article is to explore and analyze the implications of autonomous vehicles, with a focus on their impact on cities, as they are and will be massively linked to smart city systems and operate on urban roads. In this paper, the author has analyzed the findings and data from many past literature and research sources and summarized them based on his own research and ideas. The negative impacts are mainly reflected in three different aspects: safety hazards, environmental pollution and energy consumption. Basically, there are a lot of students who don't like math because it is difficult and requires effective teaching to understand it, math is one of the subjects that uses logic, critical, and rational in solving its problems, therefore it requires high concentration to understand it, besides that the method in teaching is also very influential on students like what is effective and makes students like math subjects, especially factors that can influence students towards math subjects. A little bit of what we see now is that many teachers only rely on the teaching system without knowing what kind of methods are good for students, and that has a very bad effect when students hear about math lessons. Why do many dislike math, what factors make students dislike math, in this article will answer these questions with all the learning and research.

A Survey Study of Individuals Using Hexahydrocannabinol Cannabis Products: Use Patterns and Perceived Effects.

Introduction: Across the cannabis market, multiple cannabinoids have seen rapid growth. Considering the differing effects between specific cannabinoids, it is critical to assess effects on an individual level. Hexahydrocannabinol (HHC) is one intoxicating cannabinoid that became more accessible due to regulatory shifts. The purpose of the current study was to provide descriptive data regarding HHC use patterns and perceived effects within a sample of participants who endorsed recent HHC use. Methods: One hundred nine individuals self-reported use of an HHC-cannabis product at least once within 6 months and completed an HHC use questionnaire via Prolific, an online crowdsourcing platform. Results: Findings suggest recent HHC users are using HHC relatively frequently (∼10 days during the past month) for various indications, including anxiety and pain. HHC was perceived to yield more good than bad effects, including relaxation and euphoria. Approximately 17% of the sample reported adverse effects, and ∼20% of those who stopped using HHC experienced some withdrawal symptoms. Few meaningful sex differences in subjective effect ratings were observed. Discussion: The current study provides critical preliminary data about consumer use patterns and perceived effects related to HHC. Such data are needed to further research on the potential therapeutic as well as detrimental effects of HHC and to better inform the consumers, health professionals, and regulators about a cannabinoid that is widely available the market.

Race to carbon neutrality in South Africa: What role does environmental technological innovation play?

Governments worldwide have prioritized carbon reduction and neutrality to address the escalating threat of climate change. These goals are in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG-13). These goals stress taking action on climate change to lessen the bad effects of human activities and using fossil fuels for energy. To this end, the present study investigates the connection between conventional energy usage, agricultural practices, economic growth, and their impact on environmental sustainability in South Africa. Additionally, it explores the role of renewable energy consumption and environmental technological innovation in mitigating these effects. To achieve the study objectives, a carbon-income function is fitted with an annual frequency data from 1975 to 2020. The present study leverages on Pesaran's Autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) method and for robustness analysis the dynamic ARDL simulations method to simultaneously explore the short and long-run coefficients of the study's outlined variables. Empirical analysis, confirmed by bounds testing for cointegration, reveals a long-term equilibrium relationship among the variables considered. Notably, economic growth, fossil fuel energy consumption, and agricultural activities have adverse effects on environmental sustainability in South Africa, indicating a trade-off between economic growth and environmental quality. Dynamic ARDL simulations provide further evidence of an Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) phenomenon. However, renewable energy consumption and environmental technological innovation positively influence environmental quality. These findings highlight the imperative for South Africa and its stakeholders to adopt green growth policies and transition to cleaner energy alternatives.

Data released by APJII (Association of Indonesian Internet Providers) states that the highest age group for internet penetration is in the teenage age range of 13-18 years. As many as 99.16 percent of that age are connected to the internet. Connectivity with high internet usage is ironically not in line with media literacy skills. This is what underlies the community service team, Faculty of Communication Sciences, Padjadjaran University in conducting media literacy counseling for teenagers. PKM activities are carried out for 8th grade students of SMP YPKKP Bandung City with the theme: optimizing Instagram users. The social media Instagram was chosen because based on data from we are social in 2022, Instagram is the social media with the second most users after WhatsApp. The PKM session activity began with filling out a questionnaire in the form of questions about the behavior of using social media by Mrs. Puji Prihandini, then followed by a lecture in the form of exposure to material on the benefits of social media and the bad effects of using social media by Mrs. Rachmaniar then followed by practical steps in creating content on Instagram by Mrs. Renata. Then the event ended with a question and answer session and a quiz. As a result, students can understand the material well and can explain Back to the benefits and bad effects of social media as well as the steps in creating useful content on Instagram. This PKM activity is still in the awareness stage of using social media and compiling content, in the future this PKM activity can be continued with contetn creator workshop.

Mobile Apps-Based Cosmetic Equipment Selection Decision Support System Use Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) Method

Currently, more and more types of cosmetic products are appearing on the market, thus making cosmetic users confused in choosing cosmetics that suit their skin type and usage. Not a few people who use cosmetics wrongly which has a lot of bad effects on their face and has to be touched up repeatedly. This application facilitates users with 5 types of skin types, lip types and types of use that can be selected to make it easier for users to choose cosmetics that suit their skin type and usage. The application was built with a Decision Support System (DSS) using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method to make calculations for selecting the most appropriate Make Over cushion and lipstick product for the user. In this application, the user can enter their skin type and then the system will calculate using the SAW method to get the Make Over cushion and lipstick that is most suitable for the user. The final result of the system will display the Make Over cushion and lipstick and their description with the highest calculated value to the user. Based on testing, this application is able to display cushion and lipstick products whose compatibility with users reaches 98%.

The Effect of Drug Users on Periodontal Health : Literature Review

Background: Drug trafficking in the world affects the country and spread to all levels of Indonesian society. Methamphetamine, marijuana, and heroin are the most commonly abused drugs. Drugs cause a lot of bad effects, including the oral cavity. Results of Health Research on the Impact of Drug Abuse in 2019, as many as 64.1% of them experienced dental problems and 60.1% of oral cavity disorders. The risk of periodontal disease in drug users is higher than non-users. Objective: To determine the effect of the use of methamphetamine, marijuana, and heroin and the most influential drug users on the health of periodontal tissues. Methods: Using secondary data obtained through several e-databases, that are Pubmed Central (PMC), SpringerLink, and ResearchGate based on keywords and a predetermined time span. Discussion: Periodontal disease in drug users is related to xerostomia, oral hygiene, and immunosuppression. The high accumulation of calculus and plaque in drug users due to their low awareness of maintaining oral health and impaired motor function that makes it difficult for a person to clean his oral cavity. Comparison of Bleeding on Probing (BOP) and Clinical Attachment Loss (CAL) values were used as the main variables to show the parameters of periodontal tissue inflammation in each type of drug (methamphetamine, marijuana, and heroin). Conclusion: There was an effect of methamphetamine, marijuana, and heroin on the health of periodontal tissues including gingivitis and periodontitis. The heroin used by intravenous injection had the most effect on periodontal tissue health compared to methamphetamine and marijuana.

New Challenges to the implementation of Active learning Methods at Secondary schools in Kambata Tambaro zone, Ethiopia

The main objective of this study was to find out key factors which affect implementation of active learning methods at secondary schools in Kambata Tembaro zone, Ethiopia. The study was done on the bases of a descriptive survey design. Data sources for the study were 37 English language teachers. Questionnaire and focus group discussion were employed as data collecting tools. Both quantitative and qualitative techniques of data analysis were implemented. Thus data collected through questionnaire were analyzed using SPSS and data gathered via group discussion were thematically analyzed. Findings of the study revealed that lack of motivation and interest among teachers to fully accomplish their role in teaching, students’ preference of illegal migration than attending school and unsuitable conditions in and around the classroom were the most challenging factors which affected implementation of active learning methods in the schools. It is recommended by the researchers that the government of Ethiopia should take immediate action to facilitate basic needs for the teachers. None Government and Government offices in the zone should work in collaboration to create awareness to the students and their parents on the bad effect of illegal migration. Students, parents, teachers and school administrators at woreda and zone level should deal together to bring reform to the teaching learning process in the zone.

THE EFFECT OF FEAR OF COVID-19 ON STRESS, DEPRESSION, ANXIETY, LIFE SATISFACTION AND WELL-BEING: A META-ANALYSIS STUDY

The fear that people have as a result of Covid-19 has an effect on their daily lives. The goal of this research is to investigate the impact that being afraid of Covid-19 has on a person's level of stress, sadness, anxiety, overall well-being, and happiness with life. A technique called meta-analysis is used to do the analysis on the data that was obtained. In order to collect data, we searched the Scopus, Web of Science, and GoogleScholar databases. After doing so, we brought together 14 studies that were suitable. These investigations offered a total of thirty different correlation values. The CMA program is then used to do analyses on the data that was obtained. Analysis is done on the significance of heterogeneity as well as publication bias. The magnitude of the effect is calculated. It turns out that the data set is composed of disparate elements. The model of random effects is utilized. The investigation's findings indicate that the data set does not include any publishing bias. According to the results of this research, having a fear of Covid-19 can have a beneficial influence on stress, depression, and anxiety; however, having a fear of Covid-19 can have a negative effect on stress, which in turn can have a bad effect on life satisfaction and well-being.

DeepSIM: a novel deep learning method for graph similarity computation

Graphs are widely used to model real-life information, where graph similarity computation is one of the most significant applications, such as inferring the properties of a compound based on similarity to a known group. Definition methods (e.g., graph edit distance and maximum common subgraph) have extremely high computational cost, and the existing efficient deep learning methods suffer from the problem of inadequate feature extraction which would have a bad effect on similarity computation. In this paper, a double-branch model called DeepSIM was raised to deeply mine graph-level and node-level features to address the above problems. On the graph-level branch, a novel embedding relational reasoning network was presented to obtain interaction between pairwise inputs. Meanwhile, a new local-to-global attention mechanism is designed to improve the capability of CNN-based node-level feature extraction module on another path. In DeepSIM, double-branch outputs will be concatenated as the final feature. The experimental results demonstrate that our methods perform well on several datasets compared to the state-of-the-art deep learning models in related fields.Graphical abstract

Developmental landscape of computational techniques to explore the potential phytochemicals from Punica granatum peels for their antioxidant activity in Alzheimer's disease.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is more commonly found in women than in men as the risk increases with age. Phytochemicals are screened in silico from Punica granatum peels for their antioxidant activity to be utilized for Alzheimer's disease. Alzheimer's disease is inhibited by the hormone estrogen, which protects the brain from the bad effects of amyloid beta and acetylcholine (ACh), and is important for memory processing. For the purpose, a library of about 1,000 compounds from P. granatum were prepared and studied by applying integrated computational calculations like 3D-QSAR, molecular docking, MD simulation, ADMET, and density functional theory (DFT). The 3D-QSAR model screened the active compounds B25, B29, B35, B40, B45, B46, B48, B61, and B66 by the field points and activity atlas model from the prepared library. At the molecular level, docking was performed on active compounds for leading hit compounds such as B25 and B35 that displayed a high MolDock score, efficacy, and compatibility with drug delivery against the antioxidant activity. Optimization of the structure and chemical reactivity parameter of the hit compound was calculated by DFT. Moreover, ADMET prediction was evaluated to check the bioavailability and toxicity of the hit compound. Hesperidin (B25) is found to be a hit compound after the whole study and can be synthesized for potent drug discovery in the future.

Effects of cyberbullying on college-going girls in Tangail Sadar: Nature, causes, and consequences

Cyberbullying has turned into a vital issue in the recent world. Especially, girls are the main victim of cyberbullying. This study has focused on the nature, causes, and effects as well as identifying the relationship between spent time on social media and the effects of cyberbullying on college girl students in Tangail Sadar. 153 students between the ages of 16 and 19 served as the study's respondents and a mixed approach was employed. Multistage sampling and purposive sampling methods are used, Survey and interview techniques are used to gather data from the respondents. The study reveals that cyberbullying emerges most commonly from a low mentality towards girls, revenge, for having fun or entertainment, social media activities, clothing of girls, lack of morality, etc. and most of the bullying is related to messaging, sexual harassment, spreading rumors, comments, disclosing private info, sending unwanted images or videos type of cyberbullying; Victims experience bad effects as consequences, especially on their psychology (stress, depression and impact on their academic life). Cyberbullying is a type of bullying that does not need any strong reason to have occurred because the offender stays confidential in the cyber world. Therefore, our government must be conscious of solving this issue.

The large number of ex-illegal gold mines in Setajo Raya Subdistrict which was caused by illegal mining activities made the former mining land abandoned by the miners and no longer used. The number of losses incurred from these PETI activities include: changes in the color of river water, damaged soil due to excavation, river pollution. Seeing the condition of the problems that exist in the District of Setajo Raya, a research was carried out on "Utilization of Ex- Mining Gold Without Permits in Sentajo Raya District". This study aims to identify the use of ex-gold mining land without a permit in Sentajo Raya Subdistrict to minimize the bad effects of the former PETI mining and reuse the land. To achieve the goal, there are 3 (three) research objectives, namely Identifying the distribution of ex-mining gold without a permit in Sentajo Raya District, Identifying the potential for exploitation of ex-gold mining without a permit in Sentajo Raya Subdistrict and developing a strategy to use land for ex-gold mining without a permit in Sentajo Raya District. . This study uses spatial analysis which is used to identify ex-mining land with field observation methods, qualitative and quantitative analysis is used to determine the use of ex-mining land with a questionnaire method of 99 respondents and SWOT analysis is used to determine the strategy of using ex-mining land. The distribution of former gold mining without a permit in Sentajo Raya District has 8 points, the number of distribution of former gold mining. Potential land use there are 4 types of land use that can be used as a strategy for exploiting ex-gold mining land, namely, as fish farming land, tourist attractions, reservoirs, and agriculture. permits in Sentajo Raya District are used for fish cultivation

 Emissions can have a negative impact on the Environment and Health. Compounds which can harm human health are sulfur oxides (SOx) nitrogen oxides (NOx), carbon oxides (COx), hydrocarbons (HC), heavy metals (Pb) and particulates. These compounds can have bad effects in a densely populated area such as in a housing complex.. This study aims to determine plant species along the main road of Kota Wisata Cibubur, predict the amount of emissions in Kota Wisata Cibubur’s main roads, and to give a planting recommendation which can decrease NO2 emission. The benefit of this research is as a recommendation to the real estate company to give more benefits for the residents in the housing estate in terms of planting the types of plant which can absorb NO2 emission. The research method used is descriptive quantitative method in which the planning process for this research consists of objectives, inventory, analysis, synthesis, and planning. The highest NO2 emission recorded was 85,119.91 kg/year. Emissions absorbed is still not sufficient emough despite after adding plants to the available open green spaces. Therefore, it is necessary to add plants in a radius of 500 m from the main road because NO2 emissions can have an impact on health in a radius of 500 m. Along the radius, there are varieties of ground covers which are garden, built areas, streets, open areas, and moor. The concept for planting in each ground covers will vary. Just like the planting recommendation in the main access road, the plants used will be according to the standard of the plants which can optimally absorb NO2. Plants which are suitable to absorb NO2 emissions and are mostly used are dadap (Erythrina variegata), Ki Hujan (Samanea saman), ylang-ylang (Cananga odorata), and Flamboyant (Delonix regia).
 
 
 

QUALITATIVE ANALYSIS OF WASTEWATER

Wastewater is the result of many human activities, and its volume is growing more and more every year. Usually the issue of wastewater treatment is solved in municipal wastewater treatment plants. These facilities have been operated in our country for many years, the degree of their consumption is very high, it is more than 60%, and this has a bad effect on the environment. Poor quality of wastewater treatment leads to problems such as degradation of aquatic ecosystems and various diseases that will be transmitted by water from contaminated sources, Wells, freshwater wells. The Problem is significant not only in our country, but all over the world. For example, according to a UN World Report, the amount of wastewater transported worldwide, with the exception of highly developed countries (to which Kazakhstan does not yet belong), their total pollution is growing at a steady pace. At the same time, as noted in the article, the amount of wastewater is discharged into the environment without proper treatment [1]. In our Republic of Kazakhstan, the first urban wastewater treatment plants appeared in the 1950s.In the 20th century, at a time when mechanical sewage treatment plants (MOS) were built and put into operation in large cities. Urban wastewater was discharged into filtration fields or water tanks without adequate treatment. Currently, there are many used sewers. Consumption was over 90%. In our city of Taraz, there is absolutely no scythe, urban outflows through temporary wells are immediately discharged to filter fields, this was in 2010. During this time, the picture has not changed. Urban sewerage is associated not only with residential buildings, but also with industrial plants. This causes an excessive hydraulic load on filtration zones that pollute groundwater. City leaders promised to solve this problem 10 years ago, but the problem still exists and is current.
