The rapid evolution of digital technology has exponentially amplified the generation and sharing of diverse digital data, notably files, images, and videos, over the internet, intensifying the critical need for enhanced security measures to safeguard these prevalent data types. This research presents a comprehensive analysis of various encryption algorithms applied to different data types - files, images, and videos. The study categorizes encryption algorithms into symmetric and asymmetric types, with examples including AES, DES, Triple DES, RSA, Diffie-Hellman, and ECC. The paper further explores specific algorithms used for file, image, and video encryption. The objective is to identify the most efficient encryption algorithm for each data type, thereby enhancing data security in the digital age. The paper emphasizes that while encryption is a crucial tool for data security, it should be used in conjunction with other security measures for comprehensive protection.
