THE ROLE OF SATELLITE CELLS IN CRUSH INJURY OF RAT SKELETON MUSCLE

The crush type of injury in rat skeletal muscle is often used in tissue degeneration and regeneration. After crush injury muscle tissue begins to regenerate. In this process, it is accepted that satellite cells play an important role which are very sensitive to muscle injury. The aim of this microscopic study was to examine role of satellite cells in muscle regeneration in crush injury. This research was done the department of Histology&Embryology in Eskisehir Osmangazi University in 2008. Ethic approval of this study has been received. During the study, the whole essential and ethics conditions have been done. In the study 36 Spraque-Dawley rats were used. The rats were separated into 5 groups as test and control groups. Crush type of injury has been applied on muscles of right hind extremities of testing group rats by applying 3.5 kg of weight for 6 hours. In according to testing periods rats were anaesthetized intraperitoneally with ketamine 30mg/kg + xylazine 10mg/kg and sacrificied 3, 7, 14 and 21-day intervals. After crush injury, increased satellite cells were particularly observed on day 7. Also significant increased of satellite cells and regenerated myofibrils were detected on day 14. However, satellite cells were seen on day-21 were similar to control group. In crush injuries, number of satellite cells were markedly increased and actively involved into regeneration process of the skeleton muscle.

AN EVALUATION OF WATER QALITY OF AKPINAR STREAM (DENİZLİ) WHERE TROUT PRODUCTION TAKES PLACE

In this study, 20 physicochemical parameters were measured mountly in 2007 and seasonaly in 2008 and 2009 on Akpinar Stream, which is located within the borders of Denizli and has 13 trout production facility. The data obtained were evaluated according to the fresh water fish directive which was agreed by the Commision of European Union (EC Directives) and Water Pollution Control Regulation Criteria. We determined that, the measured parameters on the first station do not constitute any risk for Salmonids and Cyprinids according to EC Directives and in the second station, the values of biological oxygen demand and nitrite were high enough to adversely affect the health of fish. There is not a significant difference between two stations for the parameters of oxygen, nitrate, total nitrogen, pH, chemical oxygen demand, acid binding capacity, total hardness and chlorine. The parametes of total suspended solids, ammonium, nitrite, secondary phosphate, total phosphorus, organic matter, ammonia, biological oxygen demand, turbidity, temperature and flow rate were significantly high in second station (p<0.05). The reason of high levels of the parameters especially origin of organic pollution in the secod station is fish feces and feed wastes which directly given into the water. Settling ponds should be used properly and controls should be provided to increase for more healty production.

EFFECT OF PANTOPRAZOL A PROTON PUMP INHIBITOR ON SMALL INTESTINAL PANETH CELLS

In previous studies of proton pump inhibitors may have effects on systems other than the stomach has not been investigated sufficiently. Especially in patients treated in intensive care conditions and the resulting use of the mucosal immune system may be very important complication of a defect or failure might be the result does not have any work was done. Therefore, in our study, the mucosal immune system, which is one of the components of the cells on primarily paneth, proton pump inhibitors was to investigate the possible effects. For this purpose, 42 Wistar Albino rats, separated into six different groups. In addition, each H2 receptor blocker and proton pump inhibitor groups, with antibiotics given; the existence of bacteria in the environment and between paneth cells release antimicrobial agent relationship has been planned to be exposed. As a result of the histological examination with light microscope, pantoprazol to be effective on the small bowel paneth cells and thus a component of the mucosal immune system, antibiotic peptides that block degranulation was found. This effect, the close enteroendocrine cells, mast cells and leukocytes of lamina propria of ileum also directly or indirectly affect. Our findings generally common knowledge, pantoprazol outside gastric parietal cell proton pump containing cells was also thought to influence. In conclusion our study results show that paneth cell secretion activities in both groups were not needed are corroborative with the fact that mucosal immunity potential can only be induced by microbial environment
