  • Dec 1, 2025
  • SPORT TK-Revista EuroAmericana de Ciencias del Deporte
  • Susana Roldán Vicent + 2 more

Integration of social values from traditional Minangkabau sports into sociology teaching to foster students’ character development
  • Jul 31, 2025
  • SPORT TK-Revista EuroAmericana de Ciencias del Deporte
  • Erianjoni + 5 more

This study explored the character education values embedded in traditional children's sports games within Minangkabau ethnic culture and examined how these values can be integrated into high school Sociology teaching materials. The aim was to deepen understanding of how culture influences students' character development, thereby emphasizing the cultural role in shaping moral and social behavior. A qualitative approach was employed. Data were collected from five active high school Sociology teachers, three traditional sports experts, and two Minangkabau cultural specialists, selected through purposive sampling. Data collection methods included observation, interviews, and document analysis. The analysis was conducted using Zhang’s semantic analysis and the interactive model by Miles and Huberman, involving data collection, reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. Findings revealed that five traditional Minangkabau games—Sipak Rago, Mancik-Mancik, Kuciang-Kuciang, Sipak Tekong, and Cak Bur—contain key character values such as honesty, justice, discipline, and care. Integration into Sociology teaching occurs in two stages: (1) identifying and formulating character values with a systematic link to norms, and (2) embedding local Minangkabau values into teaching materials, considering cognitive, affective, and psychomotor learning domains. This approach underscores the importance of value-based content that actively engages students in the learning process.

  • Yanko Ordóñez Ontiveros + 2 more

  • May 13, 2025
  • SPORT TK-Revista EuroAmericana de Ciencias del Deporte
  • Phan Trung Kien + 2 more

This study examined the impact of learning strategies on psychological well-being, academic performance, and physical education outcomes among university students at Hanoi Metropolitan University, Vietnam. Using a mixed-methods approach, quantitative data were collected from 500 students via structured surveys, while qualitative insights were gathered through semi-structured interviews with 25 participants. Quantitative findings reveal that students employing cognitive and metacognitive strategies, such as goal-setting, self-monitoring, and elaboration, achieved significantly higher GPAs, reported lower stress levels, and exhibited greater engagement in physical education activities compared to those with minimal strategy use. High strategy users had an average GPA of 3.72 and stress levels of 12.8 (GHQ-28), outperforming low strategy users, whose respective averages were 2.98 and 18.4. Qualitative data further highlighted the transformative role of adaptive strategies in managing academic responsibilities and mitigating stress. High strategy users reported feeling more organized, confident, and motivated, both academically and physically, by setting clear goals and tracking progress. In contrast, low strategy users often described challenges related to procrastination, disorganization, and lack of motivation, which negatively impacted their academic and physical engagement. These findings provide empirical evidence supporting the inclusion of learning strategies in educational policies to enhance student well-being, performance, and physical education outcomes.

Comprehensive training for young football players: Technical, physical, and psychological readiness for global competitions
  • May 13, 2025
  • SPORT TK-Revista EuroAmericana de Ciencias del Deporte
  • Valerii Kyselov + 4 more

This study aimed to identify the main factors influencing the effectiveness of training football players in adolescence to achieve high results at the international level. The study used methods of analysing scientific literature, observing training processes and competitions, and experimental approaches to assessing athletes’ physical and psychological fitness. It included 136 football players: men (n = 92; 67.65%) and women (n = 44; 32.35%). The age range was 14–22 years old and the average age 19.6. The results showed that adapting training programmes to the individual needs of athletes and considering the sociocultural context plays a key role in ensuring their competitiveness in international competitions. The analysis of technical and tactical indicators of young football players before and after the implementation of practical recommendations showed significant improvements: an increase in the number of short and medium passes forward (from 74±23 to 105±24, p<0.05) and backward (from 62±19 to 84±25, p<0.05), which indicates better ball control and pace of the game. The decrease in technical errors confirms the improvement in technical stability, while the number of long passes remained unchanged (p>0.05), probably due to their selective use. The study’s results may be helpful for coaches, sports psychologists, and sports institution managers in developing training programmes for young athletes.
