Workshop on Improving Self-Resilience through Self-Existential Discovery (Tadabbur Alam) for Researchers and Academics in A Higher Education Institution of Brunei

This community service program aims to strengthen the mental resilience and emotional well-being of researchers and academics at a higher education institution in Brunei Darussalam through a Self-Resilience Enhancement workshop based on self-existential discovery techniques using a self-existential discovery (tadabbur alam). The Community Service Team from State University of Surabaya (UNESA) organized the program in response to the high levels of stress, burnout, and workload pressure experienced by the academic community. The tadabbur alam was chosen because it can combine self-introspection, strengthening self-identity, and spiritual connection through direct observation of natural phenomena. The program resulted in an increase of self-awareness, clarity of thought, gratitude, and inner peace, and gained adaptive strategies to deal with life's stressors of participants. Participants also understood resilience not only as the ability to bounce back from setbacks, but also as an internal strength derived from self-understanding and a spiritual connection with God. This activity is an example of cross-country collaboration between UNESA and a higher education institution in Brunei Darussalam through Guidance and Counseling Study Program and Counselling and Diverse Learning Needs Unit that is relevant to be developed in a program to improve academic mental health based on Islamic values and local culture.

Meningkatkan Potensi dan Kreativitas Siswa di MAN 1 Sarolangun melalui Kegiatan Terstruktur

Creativity is one of the essential competencies for students in facing the challenges of the 21st century, because this ability enables individuals to think critically, innovatively, and produce new solutions that are relevant and useful. At MAN 1 Sarolangun, students' creative potential has not been fully explored due to the dominance of conventional learning methods that are more theoretical, so that students' creative ideas are not optimally channeled. Structured socialization activities are believed to be an effective strategy to foster understanding, motivate, and develop students' creativity systematically. This study aims to design and implement creative socialization activities through a series of structured activities that include creativity workshops, group discussions, creative mini projects, idea competitions, and reflection and evaluation of activity results. The method used is community service with instruments in the form of creativity observations before and after the activity, documentation, and participatory evaluation. The activity was carried out on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, involving students of grades X–XII of MAN 1 Sarolangun. The results of the implementation of the activity were an increase in student creativity scores, the emergence of innovative ideas that can be applied in school assignments and activities, and the formation of a participatory and innovative culture. These findings are expected to be the basis for developing creative learning strategies at MAN 1 Sarolangun, as well as being a model that can be adapted by other schools to foster student creativity in a sustainable manner.

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in East Klompang Village, Pamekasan still face limitations in understanding and applying the principles of Islamic economic law in business management, particularly regarding transaction practices, financial management, and business ethics. This program aims to improve the understanding and practice of MSMEs in applying the principles of Islamic economic law. The methods used include training, interactive discussions, and practical mentoring The results of the activity indicate an increase in MSMEs' understanding of the basic principles of Islamic economics, such as the prohibition of usury, gharar, and maysir, as well as the importance of fairness and clarity of contracts in transactions. In addition, MSMEs have begun to apply the principles of transparency and fairness in transactions, made improvements in financial management and business marketing, and demonstrated awareness of developing Islamic economic-based businesses. However, obstacles remain, such as limited access to Islamic financial institutions and the use of digital technology. This program shares a positive impact on improving the quality of MSME management, making it more ethical, transparent, and sustainable.

Pelatihan Pembuatan Lubang Resapan Biopori Sebagai Upaya Pengelolaan Air Dan Sampah Organik Di Desa Bojo, Kabupaten Barru

: Permasalahan lingkungan yang berkaitan dengan pengelolaan air dan sampah organik masih menjadi tantangan serius, terutama di wilayah dengan curah hujan tinggi, daya resap tanah yang rendah, serta tingkat kesadaran lingkungan masyarakat yang belum optimal. Kondisi tersebut juga dialami oleh Desa Bojo, Kabupaten Barru, yang rentan terhadap genangan air dan banjir akibat tingginya intensitas hujan dan kenaikan muka air laut. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan kesadaran masyarakat dalam pengelolaan air dan sampah organik melalui pelatihan pembuatan lubang resapan biopori. Metode yang digunakan adalah Participatory Action Research (PAR) dengan pendekatan pelatihan partisipatif yang meliputi penyampaian materi, demonstrasi, dan praktik langsung. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 15 orang warga Desa Bojo. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, dokumentasi, wawancara singkat, dan diskusi, yang selanjutnya dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan peserta dalam pembuatan lubang resapan biopori, yang ditandai dengan berhasil dibuatnya 8 lubang biopori atau sekitar 53,33% dari jumlah peserta. Selain itu, terjadi perubahan sikap positif masyarakat terhadap pengelolaan sampah organik rumah tangga. Kegiatan ini berkontribusi dalam pengembangan model pengabdian masyarakat berbasis partisipasi melalui pelatihan dan praktik langsung sebagai upaya mendukung pengelolaan lingkungan yang berkelanjutan di wilayah pedesaan.

Peningkatan Kesadaran tentang Kebersihan Lingkungan melalui Pengelolahan Sampah Berbasis Edukasi di Kalangan Mahasiswa

This activity aims to raise public awareness through an education-based waste management program implemented at Sunan Giri University of Surabaya as an effort to foster environmental awareness within the campus community. The main problem identified was the low level of knowledge and concern regarding proper waste sorting, management, and disposal, which resulted in waste accumulation, unpleasant odors, and potential flooding risks. This program employed the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, involving students and surrounding community members directly in observation, discussions, problem mapping, and the determination of priority actions. Practical activities included sorting organic and inorganic waste, cleaning campus areas, removing wild grass, providing waste management education, and practicing simple recycling techniques. The results indicated an increase in participants’ understanding as well as positive behavioral changes, such as disposing of waste properly, implementing waste sorting, and actively participating in routine cleanliness activities. Overall, this program proved effective in building a culture of cleanliness, strengthening social responsibility, and reinforcing the notion that campus cleanliness is an essential part of shared ecological awareness. Furthermore, this activity facilitated collaboration between students and the surrounding community, thereby fostering harmonious social relations.

Edukasi Preventif Anti Perundungan dalam Mewujudkan Lingkungan Sekolah Aman di SD Muhammadiyah Merangin

Bullying is a serious problem still found in elementary schools and has the potential to hinder the psychological, social, and academic development of students. Students' low understanding of the forms, impacts, and consequences of bullying is a factor that drives the importance of early prevention efforts through an educational approach. This Community Service activity aims to increase students' understanding and awareness of bullying behavior as a preventive measure in creating a safe and conducive school environment. The method of implementation of the activity is carried out through preventive education which includes delivering material on the concept and types of bullying, interactive discussions with students, and the use of educational media adapted to the characteristics of elementary school students. The activity was carried out at Muhammadiyah Merangin Elementary School with the main target of students. The results of the activity showed an increase in students' understanding of bullying, the growth of empathy, and awareness to reject and prevent bullying behavior in daily interactions in the school environment. Students also showed a positive response and active participation during the educational process. Based on these results, it can be concluded that preventive anti-bullying education significantly contributes to building student awareness and supporting the creation of a safe, comfortable, and bullying-free school environment.

This community service activity aimed to strengthen environmental education branding through basic education on waste management and the introduction of basic infrastructure to students of Sekolah Rakyat Terintegrasi 45 Semarang, Central Java. The target participants were 44 elementary school–aged students, with the involvement of elementary and senior high school teachers within the school environment. The activity was conducted on December 2, 2025, in commemoration of Public Works (PU) Devotion Day through the DWP Mengajar program with the theme “Educating with Heart, Inspiring the Nation.” The implementation method employed a participatory educational approach as a strategy for environmental education branding, delivered through interactive learning sessions, simple discussions, educational games, and waste management simulations. The results indicated an improvement in students’ understanding of waste classification, the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness, and awareness of the functions of basic infrastructure such as roads, drainage systems, and waste management facilities. Furthermore, the activity contributed to the development of environmentally caring character traits and the adoption of clean and healthy living habits from an early age. Therefore, education on waste management and basic infrastructure proved to be effective as a contextual learning medium for instilling environmental awareness values among Sekolah Rakyat students.

Penyerahan Bantuan Logistik Terpadu dan Pendampingan Distribusi Tepat Sasaran Korban Bencana Banjir di Kabupaten Aceh Tamiang

The impacted community's basic requirements have not been met as a result of the natural disaster that struck Aceh Tamiang Regency. In order to guarantee that aid is targeted, particularly for vulnerable populations (toddlers, pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities), the Community Service program aims to distribute integrated logistical assistance and give distribution assistance. Benua Raja Village, Bukit Tempurung Village, Purwodadi Village, and Rantau Village were the four impacted villages where this exercise was carried out on December 7, 2025. Involving the community and volunteers, the strategies employed included gathering and delivering logistical support, distributing bundles of necessities, and offering distribution support all the way to the end. The activity's findings show that, in spite of obstacles brought on by difficult environmental circumstances and restricted access, community-based distribution and the integrated logistics package approach can increase assistance distribution's accuracy, transparency, and accountability. This program not only provides for the basic requirements of the community but also enhances local volunteer talents and humanitarian networks. Aid distribution was more successful thanks to the integrated logistical strategy and field support, which may be repeated in subsequent flood situations. It is intended that this initiative will serve as a template for adaptable and long-lasting community service approaches to disaster relief

Peningkatan Literasi Sejarah Lokal dan Nilai Karakter melalui Pelatihan Penulisan Biografi Tokoh Daerah bagi Siswa MAN 1 Sanggau

The Community Service Activity (PKM) in the form of Local Figure Writing Training was conducted by a team of IAIN Pontianak Postgraduate Students at MAN Sanggau with the aim of improving students' local history literacy and skills in writing biographies of regional figures. The training took place through material delivery, discussion, and direct practice involving biography writing techniques and oral history interviews. The results of the activity showed that students had a better understanding of inspirational figures in Sanggau Regency and the exemplary values they embodied. In addition, the training successfully developed the writing skills of the students and fostered positive characteristics such as curiosity, concern for local culture, and appreciation for the role of local figures. This activity also gave rise to the idea of forming a madrasah literacy community focused on documenting local figures. Overall, this PKM program was deemed effective and worthy of being developed as a sustainable activity for the preservation of local history and culture in the madrasah environment.
