Language barriers significantly impact the academic achievement and motivation of international students at Universitas Indonesia, where Bahasa Indonesia is the primary medium of instruction. This study explores how linguistic challenges affect students' ability to engage in coursework, participate in discussions, and integrate into academic and social life. A quantitative research approach was employed, using a Google Form-based questionnaire distributed to international students, yielding 72 responses. Descriptive statistical analysis revealed that over 90% of students faced challenges in academic writing, lecture comprehension, and subject-specific terminology, leading to reduced confidence and lower academic performance. Additionally, over 80% of students reported that language barriers affected their motivation and decisions regarding future academic opportunities. Despite the presence of language support programs, more than half of the respondents found them inadequate, highlighting a gap in institutional support. The study emphasizes the need for expanded bilingual resources, improved teaching strategies, peer mentorship, and the integration of technological tools such as AI-powered translation and subtitled lectures. Addressing these language-related challenges is crucial to enhancing student engagement, fostering academic success, and creating a more inclusive learning environment for international students.

Environmental conservation efforts need to be instilled in every generation from an early age. The educational environment has a major role in instilling social attitude awareness in students. Elementary School (SD) is the longest internalization process of instilling social attitude awareness in students for six years. Quantitative experimental research aims to analyze the effectiveness of the influence of ecoliteracy-based learning in the role of social change in building an environmentally conscious community in elementary school students. Indicators of social change include attitudes, behavior, and social environmental care. Data analysis was carried out using paired sample t-tests, descriptive statistical tests, N-Gain Score tests from the results of questionnaire instruments, interviews, observations, and test methods. The results of the N-Gain Score test on the aspects of attitude and behavior change obtained an effective category with a percentage of 85.88% and 85.46% respectively and a fairly effective category for the aspect of social change with a percentage of 73.66%. The overall mean of social change towards the environmentally conscious community managed to obtain an effective category with a score of 81.67% which proves that the ecoliteracy program for social change in the role of the environmentally conscious community is considered effective.

The development of this e-module is motivated by the limitations of PLH teaching materials which are only conceptual and do not link theory to real phenomena around students, for example the problem of waste management at the Pabentengang TPA. These limitations cause learning to be less interesting and meaningful. Therefore, this study aims to transform PLH learning through the development of contextual-based e-modules that link theory to local environmental problems directly. This study uses the ADDIE development model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The validity of the product was assessed by material experts and media experts; the validation results showed a score of 83.33% (valid) from material experts, and a score of 87% for the presentation aspect and 90% for the graphic aspect from media experts (very valid). The test decision stated that the e-module could be used with minor revisions, while the student response trial obtained a score of 71.47% with the category "Good/Decent." In conclusion, the developed e-module is suitable for use as a supplement to PLH teaching materials, especially in providing concrete solutions to environmental problems, such as waste management at the Pabentengang TPA.

The formation of character and social insight is very important for students to have since elementary school, which makes social studies learning very important to be taught. However, there is a big challenge in social studies learning in elementary schools, namely an interesting learning method in accordance with the development of elementary school students who are still at the concrete operational stage. One solution to overcome this challenge is to apply a meaningful learning approach. This approach makes it easy for students to understand new concepts because the concept is still related to the concepts that students previously had, so that learning becomes more effective. This study presents a guide for teachers in implementing social studies learning in elementary schools using a contextual and relevant meaningful learning approach. The main focus of this article is on how to design social studies learning through methods that can provide meaningful learning experiences for students. Thus, teachers are expected to be able to design and implement social studies learning that provides learning experiences that are appropriate to needs, and can provide understanding and social skills for students.
