Background: Rapid social and technological changes have made it difficult for adolescents to maintain strong religious values, highlighting the need for community and religious leaders to guide and support them. Objective: This study aims to examine the efforts of community and religious leaders in enhancing the religious motivation of adolescents in Karang Agung Village, Tanjung Sakti District, Lahat Regency, South Sumatra. Method: This research employs a field research approach and was conducted in 2023. The study involved 15 participants selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected from primary and secondary sources using interviews, documentation, and observation methods. Data validity was ensured through triangulation, and data analysis followed Miles & Huberman’s interactive analysis model. Results: Community and religious leaders play a key role in fostering adolescents' religious awareness and behavior by serving as role models and providing positive guidance, facilities, and activities. Conclusion: The active role of community and religious leaders is crucial in shaping adolescents' religious motivation by offering guidance, support, and positive engagement. Contribution: This study contributes to understanding the significance of leadership in promoting religious values among youth and provides insights for policymakers and educators in designing community-based religious programs.

Background: In the digital era, online platforms influence religious discourse, making it crucial to integrate digital literacy into Islamic education to promote moderation and counter radical content, especially in diverse societies like Indonesia. Objective: This study aims to explore the role of technological advancements as a strategic approach to instilling moderate Islam in a diverse society through digital literacy-based Islamic education. Method: This research employs a literature study approach conducted in 2023. Data sources include both primary and secondary materials, collected through documentation and triangulation. Data analysis follows the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Result: Fostering a moderate society requires promoting religious moderation through digital literacy, particularly for individuals unfamiliar with social media. Social media serves as an educational platform to enhance religious harmony by disseminating content that supports tolerance and coexistence. Conclusion: Moderate Islam emphasizes the importance of tolerance in maintaining religious harmony in everyday life. Digital literacy plays a crucial role in spreading religious moderation and fostering a balanced perspective in a diverse society. Contribution: This research contributes to the understanding of how digital literacy supports religious moderation and provides valuable insights for educators, policymakers, and religious leaders in utilizing technology for promoting religious harmony.

Background: Indonesia’s diversity has made it vulnerable to rising extremism and radicalism, prompting the Ministry of Religious Affairs to promote religious moderation as a strategic effort to preserve unity and tolerance. Objective: This study aims to explore the implementation of religious moderation by the Ministry of Religious Affairs as a strategy to combat extremism and radicalism in Indonesia. Method: The research uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method conducted in 2022. Data collection techniques include documentation, and data analysis follows the Miles & Huberman model. Result: The findings indicate that religious moderation acts as a meeting point between religious extremism and the path to peace, providing a solution to reconcile religious communities. It is crucial in fostering peaceful and prosperous life, as well as promoting cultural strategies for building peace in Indonesia. Conclusion: The study concludes that religious moderation is essential for maintaining human dignity and addressing the diverse challenges of modern development. It plays a key role in mitigating radical ideologies and contributing to social harmony in Indonesia. Contribution: This research contributes to the understanding of religious moderation as a strategic tool to counter radicalism, highlighting its role in promoting peace, cultural cohesion, and human dignity in a diverse society. It offers insights for policymakers and religious leaders in fostering moderation in the face of modern challenges.

Background: The focus of this research discusses the role of religious leaders in social development and religious harmony in the 21st century. Objective: To analyze and understand the influence of religious leaders on social and religious dynamics in Banyumas Regency in the 21st century. Method: The approach used in this research is an interdisciplinary approach with qualitative methods. The research was conducted in Banyumas Regency. The subjects were families, colleagues, students, and community leaders who had interacted with religious figures from Banyumas who passed away in the 21st century. Data collection techniques included documentation, participant observation, and in-depth interviews. The data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis. Result: Religious leaders in Banyumas play a very important role in various aspects of community life, including religion, education, politics, and economics. Conclusion: The presence and leadership of religious figures significantly influence the development of social and religious harmony in Banyumas. Contribution: This research provides a deeper understanding of how religious leaders contribute to social-religious development, offering valuable insights for future community empowerment and interfaith harmony strategies.

Background: Fostering religious moderation in youth is crucial for building tolerance and peace, with Islamic senior high schools playing a key role in shaping balanced religious values to prevent radicalism and promote unity. Objective: This study aims to examine the implementation of religious moderation values among Islamic senior high school students. Method: This research employs a field research approach using a qualitative descriptive method. The study was conducted at Madrasah Aliyah Nurul Mubtadiin in 2022. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis process consisted of three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and verification. Data validity was ensured through triangulation. Results: The findings indicate that the implementation of religious moderation values among students at Madrasah Aliyah Nurul Mubtadiin is well-executed and has become a flagship program in the school. Conclusion: The successful application of religious moderation values contributes to shaping students into a moderate generation with a strong sense of nationalism, high tolerance, and a rejection of violence. Contribution: This study serves as a reference for educators and policymakers in understanding and promoting religious moderation in schools, ensuring the development of students with balanced religious perspectives and social harmony.

Background: Indonesia’s multicultural society presents both opportunities and challenges for maintaining inter-religious harmony. In local communities with religious diversity, the practice of tolerance is essential to support peaceful coexistence and national unity. Objective: The purpose of this study is to determine how inter-religious harmony is implemented in Bandar Village, which is known for its religious diversity. Method: This research employs a field research method conducted in 2023 in Bandar Village, Bandar District, Batang Regency. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and direct observation, and analyzed using content analysis. Result: The findings reveal that Bandar Village residents, despite their religious differences, exhibit strong tolerance and mutual respect. Their religious beliefs are deeply rooted from birth and are not influenced or disrupted by external religious pressures. Conclusion: Bandar Village demonstrates a successful model of inter-religious harmony, where strong internal beliefs and mutual acceptance foster a peaceful and respectful community life. Contribution: This study provides a valuable reference for understanding the practical application of religious moderation in a multicultural society and offers insights for replicating similar approaches in other diverse communities to sustain harmony and unity.

Background: In a diverse academic environment, particularly in religious universities, the importance of fostering religious moderation is increasingly crucial. Religious tolerance among students of different faiths plays a vital role in maintaining peace and harmony on campus. Objective: This study aims to examine the application of religious moderation (tolerance) among students at UIN K. H. Abdurrahman Wahid Pekalongan and to explore the role of anthropology in promoting this moderation within the campus environment. Method: The research employs a qualitative approach and was conducted in 2024 at UIN K. H. Abdurrahman Wahid Pekalongan. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis involved three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Result: The findings reveal that the application of religious moderation among students is well-implemented. It serves as a strategic approach to maintaining harmony among students of different religious backgrounds and fosters peaceful, tolerant, and respectful interfaith interactions on campus. Conclusion: Religious moderation is effectively upheld through an anthropological lens within the university setting, contributing to a culture of mutual respect and coexistence among students of diverse faiths. Contribution: This research provides valuable insights into the relevance of an anthropological approach in strengthening religious moderation among students and offers a scientific reference for further studies in religious and cultural diversity in higher education.

Background: Indonesia's rich religious, ethnic, and cultural diversity is a source of pride but also presents challenges to social harmony. The rise of extremism and intolerance highlights the urgent need for a balanced and inclusive approach to religious life. Objective: This study aims to analyze the urgency of religious moderation within Indonesia's diverse society and to identify the potential consequences if such moderation is neglected. Method: A qualitative method was employed, using a library research approach to examine relevant literature, policy documents, and scholarly publications. Result: The findings indicate that without a moderate approach to religious life, the risks of social conflict and national disintegration increase significantly. Religious moderation has proven effective in reducing extremism, fostering interfaith dialogue, and strengthening the values of tolerance and unity within the framework of Pancasila and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. Conclusion: Religious moderation plays a critical role as a middle path that can help mitigate the tensions arising from Indonesia's rich religious diversity. Religious moderation, deeply rooted in Cultural heritage, bridges differing religious practices and local wisdom. Contribution: The contribution of this research lies in offering a deeper conceptual understanding of the importance of religious moderation as a preventive strategy for maintaining national integration and as a foundation for inclusive educational and social policy development.

Background: In the digital era, the rapid spread of religious content through online platforms presents both opportunities and challenges for maintaining religious harmony. The need for moderate, inclusive, and contextual religious understanding has become increasingly urgent, especially among younger generations. Objective: This study aims to explore the role of university students in moderating religious knowledge in the digital era. Method: This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature review method. Data were collected from various written sources such as books, scientific journals, articles, and relevant online sources. Data were analyzed using the content analysis method, which included data reduction, data presentation, interpretation, and conclusion drawing. Result: The results showed that students play a strategic role in moderating religious knowledge through social media engagement, dissemination of positive and educational religious content, formation of online interfaith communities, and collaboration with religious leaders and academics to promote religious moderation. Conclusion: University students have significant potential as agents of religious moderation in the digital era, using their digital literacy and social influence to counteract radical narratives and foster inclusive dialogue. Contribution: This research contributes to a deeper understanding of the proactive role of the younger generation, particularly university students, in maintaining religious harmony and promoting moderate religious discourse in the digital landscape.

Background: Drug and substance abuse among youth is a growing concern in Zimbabwe, particularly in urban areas like Glen Norah, Harare. Various socio-economic and psychological factors contribute to this issue, posing challenges for families, communities, and policy-makers. Objective: This study aims to explore the role of faith-based interventions in addressing drug and substance abuse among youth aged 13 to 35 within the Glen Norah Islamic Community Centre. Method: A qualitative research design was employed, using in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and key informant interviews to collect data from affected youth, religious leaders, and community stakeholders. Result: The findings reveal multiple contributing factors to youth drug abuse, including economic deprivation, family dysfunction, peer pressure, media influence, mental health challenges, and insufficient awareness. The study presents a faith-based model that promotes multidisciplinary collaboration involving religious institutions, healthcare professionals, and community organizations. Conclusion: Faith-based approaches, when integrated with other sectors, offer promising avenues for addressing youth substance abuse. Tailoring interventions to cultural and religious contexts enhances their relevance and impact. Contribution: This study provides actionable insights for developing context-specific, faith-informed policy and intervention strategies, contributing to a holistic and culturally appropriate response to drug abuse in Zimbabwe.
