COVID-19 has impacted people’s lives worldwide as a global pandemic. It is a shocking health issue and generates other economic and societal problems. With its many citizens, Indonesia faces limitations in dealing with this pandemic. The research was initiated due to global COVID-19, which affects Indonesia economically and socially. They utilized local wisdom to support religious minorities via humanitarian efforts. This research explores the charitable and philanthropic efforts of minority religious communities such as Ahmadiyah, Shia, Baha'i, and Sapta Dharma in Yogyakarta, which often face negative perceptions in Indonesia. This study uses qualitative methods to illustrate how minority religious groups participate in helping others in responding to the pandemic. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, Focused Group Discussions, and documentation. The results showed that minority religious groups in Indonesia have the initiative and actively participate in assisting needy people around them as their responsibility as Indonesian citizens, despite the discrimination and hostility they face because of their beliefs. Philanthropic motivations based on religious values, universal humanity, and moral responsibility as a religious group can be viewed as local wisdom. The existence of cultural views in Indonesia for help and mutual assistance makes aid acceptable as a form of brotherhood, which is inversely proportional to the theological rejection of the group.

Indonesia's rich diversity encompasses various ethnicities, cultures, and religions, with deeply ingrained marriage customs such as the Sasak tradition of Merariq, which reflects a delicate balance between Islamic law and socio-cultural dynamics while facing challenges of persistence and extinction in modern times. This study aims to provide an overview of how local wisdom can be explored from various perspectives, particularly within the framework of Islamic law and the socio-cultural dynamics prevalent in Sasak society. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive analysis method. The research involves data collection through observations in Terong Tawah Village, West Lombok, and interviews with various key figures, including youth leaders, customary leaders, religious leaders, and community members. Additionally, documentation related to the implementation of the Merariq tradition in Terong Tawah Village was conducted to ensure the validity of the obtained data. The research findings elucidate that the Merariq tradition still holds cultural significance but has been simplified to align with Islamic teachings. This tradition involves stages such as midang, memaling, nyelabar, akad nikah, sorong serah, begawe, and bejango or nyongkolan. Implementing the Sasak customary wedding ceremony or Merariq must be harmonized with Islamic understanding to ensure compliance with Islamic principles.

The cultural context of the Maluku archipelago is greatly influenced by Islam, which profoundly impacts the way of life of its diverse communities. Religion exists alongside and interacts with society's social dynamics while incorporating specific cultural values. This study aims to analyze and gain insight into the distinct concept of Islam in Maluku as it undergoes continuous development in conjunction with the local culture. A qualitative research approach is employed, specifically focusing on emic perspectives. Priority is given to the views and interpretations of local informants. Moreover, the ideation process is enhanced by incorporating literature studies; efforts to conceptualize the ideas in this writing were enriched by using qualitative research methods, selected data sources, and prioritizing the emic perspective. The informants' views were prioritized in terms of how they view and interpret the world from their perspective, together with literature studies and various references related to the topic. The study findings indicate that Islam has experienced growth and evolution in Maluku as a religion, resulting in its interaction with diverse local cultures. The culture of the Moluccans has changed over time, originating in their early settlement. This has resulted in forming a community that has developed its distinct values, which revolve around human relationships and the environment. Islam offers a logical reasoning for preserving Moluccan culture, promoting peaceful coexistence among the people of Maluku, and serving as an example of socio-religious integration.

Studies on the role of the Peureulak Sultanate in Islamization in Indonesia still need to be completed. By conducting this research, this research can fill the knowledge gap about the role and contribution of the Peureulak Sultanate in the Islamization process in Indonesia. Apart from that, this research is important in the context of strengthening Islamic identity in Aceh. Through analysis of historical evidence, this research will look at and analyze how the role of the Peureulak Sultanate influenced and shaped Islamic identity in Aceh. This can help preserve and strengthen the Acehnese people's cultural identity, which is closely related to Islam. By reviewing the role of the Peureulak Sultanate in Islamization in Indonesia, we can view this process from a more holistic perspective. This study pays attention to historical, social, cultural, and identity aspects so that we can understand the Islamization process comprehensively and contextually. This research is historical. The research was carried out by conducting literature studies, document and archive studies, in-depth interviews with local figures in Perlak, conducting field studies at heritage sites of the Perlak sultanate (graves of the Perlak kings, ancient harbor, Perlak River), and conducting historical analysis. The findings from this research reveal that the Perlak Sultanate has a rich historical heritage, especially in the form of the tombs of the Perlak kings, which played an important role in strengthening Islamic identity in Aceh. The Perlak Sultanate also played a role in the pepper trade, which, through trade routes, helped spread Islam. The pepper trade not only creates economic wealth but also brings positive changes in the culture and society, with values such as brotherhood, tolerance, mutual respect and respect becoming a strong foundation. The results of this research provide in-depth insight into the historical role of the Perlak Sultanate in the formation of Islamic identity in Aceh and the importance of factors such as trade in this process. This study makes a valuable contribution to understanding Aceh's diverse history and culture.

This article explores the intricate dynamics among Sufi elites in Cibingbin, highlighting the significant tensions within this distinctive group. The Sufi community is deeply divided, engaging in intense debates and frequent confrontations with each other. Central to these disputes are issues surrounding the Nasab dialectics, an ideology associated with the habaib that stresses the concept of voluntarism among the Sufi elite. These internal debates are most intense between the habaib faction, known as Kanzus Sholawat Cibingbin, and the local religious authorities, referred to as Kyai Kampung. As each group digs in and solidifies their doctrinal positions, the struggle for dominance in the public sphere becomes more pronounced. This phenomenon, which aligns with Habermas's theories regarding the legitimacy of power in public spaces, has unexpectedly fueled the momentum of the Laskar Walisongo movement. Despite the apparent weakening of the habaib's defensive stance, both the habaib and the Kyai Kampung have maintained considerable local influence. The ongoing power struggle highlights the complex interplay between belief, influence and control within this segment of the Sufi community. Ultimately, they have made public spaces an arena not just for collective imagery, but also the most vital part of the organisation’s sustainability or spirit.

This study investigates the Tabot Festival in Bengkulu Indonesia focusing on its cultural, religious and sosioeconomic impacts, with the aim of demonstrating how local traditions can both preserve cultural heritage and empower the community economically. The study involves examining the festival's transition from a Shiite religious ceremony commemorating Imam Husein bin Ali’s martyrdom, to a broader cultural celebration that attracts significant tourism. Employing a qualitative ethnographic method, data were analyzed through extensive literature reviews. The findings reveal that the festival retains its deep cultural and religious roots, reflecting humanitarian and Islamic values such as courage, sacrifice and justice through its rituals and processions. Despite its evolution into a lively cultural event, the festival continues to uphold significant Islamic traditions and symbols. Economically, the Tabot Festival provides substantial benefits to the local economy, boosting sectors such as hospitality, restaurants and transportation. It also creates a multiplier effect by stimulating the creative economy and generating temporary employment opportunities for vendors, artisans and service providers. The local community's active participation further strengthens social cohesion and economic welfare.

The Muslim community in East Java has a tradition of marriage that is believed to be a virtue. The tradition of marriage must provide legal protection for women and children. This study aims to (1) analyze the legal culture in the marriage tradition of the Muslim community in East Java and (2) find a model of preventive legal protection for women and children in the marriage tradition of the Muslim community in East Java. This research method is sociological research, which is expressed in quantitative data. Based on the research results, it is known that preventive legal protection for the Muslim community in East Java can be done by making the dowry an economic guarantee, providing monthly money, and the need for a prenuptial agreement. The Muslim marriage tradition in East Java typically sees wives joining their husbands' homes or establishing a shared residence, leading to a customary practice where wives may return to their own families upon divorce despite contributing to jointly owned homes. To address the economic vulnerabilities women and children face post-divorce, legal provisions should include stipulations on marriage dowry amounts, monthly financial obligations for wives, and requirements for prenuptial agreements to safeguard their interests. Implementing such protections would mitigate the financial repercussions experienced by wives and children following divorce.

This research is motivated by differences in people's beliefs regarding the Pamali (taboo) tradition, which is considered by some groups to represent wisdom, but by as a type of superstition that must be avoided. This results in the Pamali tradition beginning to be marginalised from modern life. However, in the Kampung Naga, one of the villages in Indonesia , the tradition is still maintained in the practice of religion and modernisation. The paper aims to analyse Pamali utterances based on the perspective of semiotic theory and their relationship with the religiosity of the Kampung Naga indigenous community. The qualitative research uses an phenomenological design that applies linguistic theory as an analytical tool. It was found that according to the theory of meaning, Pamali utterances are based on the relevance of the relationship between sign, referent, and interpretant. Pamali is interpreted as taboo by society, and therefore people do not violate it. The content of the message in Pamali utterances is in harmony with the content of the Islamic message, so the reflection is a crystallisation of the religious teachings adhered to by the village people.
