From Character to Nation: Reclaiming Vivekananda’s Education for India’s Youth Dividend
  • Jan 1, 2025
  • ACADEMICIA: An International Multidisciplinary Research Journal
  • Ankit Tiwari

Abstract This paper argues that India’s youth dividend will translate into national capability only when education forms persons of character who can convert knowledge into service and ethical leadership. Building on Swami Vivekananda’s “man-making” ideal education as the integrated cultivation of body, mind, heart, and spirit the study synthesizes contemporary analyses of globalization’s pressures on mass education, convergences and gaps within NEP 2020, and practice-oriented designs for teacher development, assessment, and equity. The article proposes the C3 framework Character, Competence, Contribution as co-equal, assessable outcomes operationalized through experiential and service-learning, dialogic and contemplative routines, arts and physical culture, and community partnerships. It details curricular design across school and higher education, pedagogies that humanize learning, teacher preparation and school culture reforms, performance-based assessment, equity architecture for first-generation and rural learners, and digital-era applications that marry scientific temper with responsibility and pluralism. The discussion advances “scale-with-humanization” as a system design principle, and the conclusion outlines measurable indicators and policy recommendations to align institutional incentives with well-being, civic participation, employability quality, and community impact. In doing so, it reframes nation-building as the everyday practice of strength, truthfulness, and service, where character becomes capability and personal excellence advances the public good.

  • Mukesh Kushwaha + 1 more

Abstract In today’s globalized and technologically evolving environment, the cement industry continues to be a critical driver of infrastructure growth, particularly in developing nations like India. As competition intensifies and automation and customer expectations rise, companies must increasingly depend on skilled human resources alongside machinery and materials. Talent Management (TM) has become a crucial approach for organizations aiming to achieve long-term competitive advantage. This research paper delves into the theoretical underpinnings of TM and examines its influence on workforce efficiency within the cement sector. Utilizing secondary data from scholarly articles, industry analyses, and case studies, the paper underscores the importance of TM practices—such as recruitment, employee development, retention strategies, performance evaluations, and succession planning—in enhancing organizational productivity and effectiveness. Key theoretical stances are used in this study to examine the connection between organizational performance and human resource practices, including Herzberg’s Two-Factor Theory, the Resource-Based View, Human Capital Theory, and Social Exchange Theory. It emphasizes how crucial it is to match talent management plans with long-term corporate goals in order to increase output, reduce attrition, and promote creativity. Given the cement industry’s capital-intensive nature and complex operations, it faces unique challenges like skill gaps, high employee attrition in remote areas, and resistance to adopting new technologies. By bringing in, nurturing, and keeping the best personnel, strategic talent management may successfully address these problems. The paper concludes with actionable insights and outlines emerging trends such as digital learning platforms, AI-powered HR analytics, and inclusive workforce initiatives, all of which have the potential to turn human capital into a key competitive advantage in the cement sector.

Subhash Chandra Bose: An Analysis of his Contribution in the Indian Freedom Struggle and its Contemporary Relevance
  • Jan 1, 2025

  • Ankit Tiwari

Abstract The leadership style of Subhash Chandra Bose was profoundly characterized by a form of radical nationalism that explicitly called for unity between Hindus and Muslims, a theme he meticulously emphasized in his writings and speeches during the critical years spanning from 1939 to 1941. He perceived World War II not merely as a global conflict but as a significant struggle between imperial powers, advocating for a proactive and assertive approach to achieving independence, which included the ambitious proposal for the formation of a dedicated army aimed at liberation. His revolutionary ideas posed a direct challenge to the traditional leadership of the Indian National Congress, as he promoted a more militant and inclusive strategy that fundamentally reshaped the direction and urgency of the Indian independence movement, thereby leaving an enduring influence on its historical development. This paper adopts a narrative literature review-based approach and is based on the analysis of the literature. It exploresBose’s ideology, leadership strategies, and significant contributions to India’s fight for independence, focusing on his role in galvanizing mass movements and forming the Indian National Army (INA). It highlights his legacy and how his revolutionary ideas continue to resonate in contemporary India.

A Small-Scale Survey on the Teaching and Learning of Ao through Nagamese in the Multilingual Context of Mokokchung
  • Jan 1, 2025
  • ACADEMICIA: An International Multidisciplinary Research Journal
  • Shisadenla Walling + 1 more

Abstract This paper investigates the preference for Nagamese as the language of learning and classroom transaction by learners and teachers rather than a common indigenous language in Ao (a Naga tribal language) language classrooms in government primary schools in Mokokchung district of Nagaland. Nagamese is neither a state-recognised language nor a dominant indigenous language. However, in state government schools, where English is the official medium of instruction, non-Ao speaking children as well as teachers prefer Nagamese for classroom transactions. They also prefer to learn the Ao language through Nagamese, despite the fact that Nagamese does not share syntactic and grammatical features with Ao or any other indigenous Naga languages. The use of Nagamese for classroom transactions does not come under the purview of the NEP 2020’s Three Language Formula, and is thus a pertinent subject of study within multilingual education.

  • Gouri Srivastava

Abstract The emerging crimes among adolescent is a worrisome concern for all stakeholders especially in contemporary society. Relentless efforts have been made by policymakers, educationists and members of civil society to unravel the factors that give rise to this phenomenon. In this regard, workable strategies for its prevention have been evolved from time to time to address its occurrences through positive reinforcement strategies. Additionally, several theoretical models have been formulated by educationists who have attempted to provide the most plausible explanationsfor the occurrence of conflicts that sometimes lead to the commitment of heinous crimes. There is a general consensus among all, that no single approach, can explain the whys and hows of crimes that are committed by children mostly in the transient phase. The legal term generally used to classify children in conflict with the law is juveniles, referring to those are under the age of eighteen. The present paper would attempt to discuss different theoretical models as well as deliberate upon the shift towards the positive youth development perspective. This perspective envisions youth not as problematic but as an important asset to their respective countries. Their potential have to be nurtured for being an asset and responsible citizen tothe family, community and society. Efforts will also be made to discuss youth as the movers of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s).

  • Maheshkumar Shankar Kedar + 2 more

Abstract The Indian retail sector has emerged as one of the most dynamic and fast-paced industries due to the entry of several new players and the rising consumer demand. Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in retail has been a subject of extensive policy debate in India, especially with the gradual liberalization of FDI norms. This paper explores the multifaceted impact of FDI in the Indian retail market, focusing on both the opportunities it presents and the challenges it poses. On the opportunity side, FDI brings in capital investment, global supply chain practices, technological innovation, employment generation, and improved consumer choice. However, challenges such as regulatory hurdles, opposition from local retailers, infrastructure bottlenecks, and cultural and consumer behaviour mismatches hinder its seamless integration. The paper also examines the implications of FDI in single-brand and multi-brand retail, evaluating its role in modernizing the retail landscape and contributing to India’s economic growth. Through a balanced analysis, the study aims to provide insights into how India can harness the benefits of FDI while mitigating its adverse effects on small and traditional retailers.
