Abstract Using 55 cm hydrogen bubble chamber exposed in the π − - meson beam at 3.25 ±0.02 GeV / c 160 000 photographs were obtained and 2104 events of the reactions of the type π - p → pπ + π - π - and 1766 events of the reactions of the type π - p → pπ + π - π - π o were selected and analysed. In the spectrum of the effective masses of π + π - π - system from the first reaction A 2 -mesons were selected and the analysis was made by means of different methods to determine the spin-parity of this resonance. The second reaction was used to study πη decay mode of the A 2 -meson.

Both PP and PV decays can go only through symmetry breaking. An appropriate tensor interaction is introduced which is different for different quark-antiquark pairs. Agreement with experiment is good.

Abstract In the Regge pole model with the Pomeranchuk trajectory dominance, total cross sections of particles with any spin are proved to be spin independent at high energies. The factorizability of total cross sections, σ ab (s) σ cd (s) − σ ac (s) σ bd (s) → s →∞ 0 , is also proved.

A dip in elemental reaction cross sections for protons, deuterons, and alpha particles has been observed previously in the vicinity of nickel. The present measurements on separated isotopes in the nickel region for 14.5 MeV protons reveal that the dip is associated with the relatively low average value of N for nickel.

Abstract The neutron strength function of cobalt has been measured for neutron energies between 0 and 500 keV. Intermediate structure in the form of oscillators with widths of about 40 keV is observed.

Abstract A model is presented, in which the variation of the differential cross section at large momentum transfer is determined in terms of experimentally know quantities.

The analogues of the two lowest levels of 38Cl, with Jπ=3- and 5-, were excited in the T-forbidden reaction 37Cl(p, αo)34S. The Jπ=3- analogue state is split into several components which form a micro-giant resonance.

Abstract Among 60 000 pictures obtained by means of 55 cm hydrogen bubble chamber exposed with 4.7 Ge V c π - beam 349 events of the reaction π - p → π + π - n at small four momentum transfer have been selected. The distribution of the effective mass of π + π − system shows ϱ o -, f o - resonances and some enhancement at 1.5 - 1.6 GeV that may be interpreted as a resonance with M = 1549 ±30 MeV , Γ = 100 ±25 MeV .

Abstract It is shown that nonlocality in the alpha-nucleus potential increases the barrier penetrability. The range of nonlocality of the alpha-nucleus potential is estimated by comparing experimental and theoretical alpha decay rates.

Experimental results on the total and differential cross sections and on the decay angular distribution for the reaction γp → N ∗++ π - at energies between 0.3 GeV and 5.8 GeV are presented and compared with theoretical predictions.
