Abstract

The characteristics of a single-end high frequency inverter and a DC-DC power converter using a static induction transistor (SIT) with zero current switching (ZCS) and zero voltage switching (ZVS) modes are presented. The SIT high-frequency (HE) inverter has no transformer. The ZCS-ZVS technique is also applied to an HF-link DC-DC converter to overcome the voltage stress and switching loss. The numerical solution is adopted for transient and steady-state analysis. On the basis of the numerical analysis, the ZCS and ZCS-ZVS operation region is described in the normalized plane. The characteristics with load change and frequency regulation in the operation region are analyzed and compared with experimental results. >
