Abstract

There were several attempts to bring the industry together before C. Francis Jenkins succeeded in July 1916. That gathering was a big idea, and the standards resulting from that are arguably responsible for the expansion of an industry that today spans the globe and generates billions, if not trillions, of dollars in revenue.
