Abstract
Cruelty on the part of wives towards husband requires a deep study in the context of several protective legislature in their favour in order to ensure their safe living and enjoy the happiness of matrimonial relationship. This study assumes considerable importance in view of the recent apex court decision in K.Srinivasan’s case that a false complaint under Sec 498A filed by the wife against her in-laws ended up in ruining the marriage and one such complaint, “is sufficient to constitute matrimonial cruelty”.
