Abstract

The article considers the possibilities of using specially designed services for detecting and preventing intrusions into the wireless network of internal affairs bodies. When choosing an intrusion detection and prevention service, it is necessary to proceed from the goals of its operation (software, architecture type, service package, potential threats). While an attacker needs physical access to a wired network to launch an attack, a wireless network allows anyone within range to passively monitor traffic or even launch an attack. One countermeasure can be the use of wireless intrusion prevention systems.
