Abstract

Storing pharate adults of the fly Pseudosarcophaga affinis for 2 to 4 weeks between 0 and 4 °C induced certain wing aberrations in the adults. These included a large number (about 20%) of up-curl wings and a few other minor variations (up-bent, down-bent, and out-spread). In all cases the costal vein was abnormally sclerotized.
