Abstract

The wideband scattering by the large-scale electrically connected finite periodic arrays is analyzed using the modified accurate subentire-domain (ASED) basis function method and the improved frequency-independent reaction (FIR). The size of matrix equation based on the modified ASED basis functions is less than that based on the elementary basis functions. Generation of the impedance matrices is still very time consuming in this method. To reduce generation time, the improved FIR is applied. In this technique, the matrix element is approximated as the form consisting of geometrical terms that are computed in advance and reused during frequency sweep. Several numerical examples of wideband analyses are performed. Simulation results validate the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed technique.
