Abstract

This article presents design of wideband dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) for C-band application using FR-4 material. In this paper analysis and layout of wide band DRA antenna is presented and its linear polarization characteristics are analysed. The microwave C band lies in the frequency range of 4 to 8 GHz. This antenna has category of ring DRA with modified hexagon shaped aperture structure. The Ansoft HFSS simulation software is used to design antenna. It basically covers the bandwidth from 4.4 GHz to 7.6 GHz and achieves a −10 dB impedance bandwidth of 90.9% at the centre frequency of 4.56 GHz and 6.2 GHz.
