Abstract
Fast, inexpensive personal computers can and will revolutionize all aspects of exploration geophysics. Computational power, graphical display, data storage, and man-machine interaction will rapidly evolve to a new and radically different paradigm from what we see today. What was once viewed as an environment suitable only for personal use now performs at a level exceeding that of the first Crays. Internal storage resources easily handle data volumes of almost any size.
