This article examines efforts to preserve ancient Islamic manuscripts in Indonesia, with particular emphasis on the risks associated with current conservation practices. Using a qualitative approach, the study analyzes data sourced from social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and relevant websites. The data collection follows a desk-review method, in which content is gathered and categorized based on predefined criteria. This information is then filtered and analyzed to map the threats emerging from preservation efforts. The findings reveal three primary risks in the implementation of manuscript conservation: (1) physical damage resulting from improper preservation methods; (2) the loss of contextual or historical identity of the manuscripts; and (3) the discontinuity or fragmentation of textual content. These risks underscore the need for a comprehensive review of existing government policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for manuscript preservation. Such policies must be contextually adapted to Indonesia’s specific environmental and institutional conditions to guide preservation actors effectively.

This research aims to determine the transfer of archival media as a preservation effort. The research method used is a qualitative method with descriptive research that uses interview methods to describe data obtained directly by researchers. The research results show that the media transfer processing process as a preservation effort must use guidelines, namely SOP (standard operational procedure) or media transfer processing workflow issued by the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia. With this SOP (standard operational procedure), it will be easier for archives to transfer documents. This SOP was prepared to provide guidance or stages in implementing the media transfer process and is expected to make it easier for archivists to carry out the media transfer process. The obstacles/constraints faced in the process of transferring archival media as a preservation effort are the obstacles faced by archivists in processing media transfer collections in a preservation effort, namely the lack of human resources, many archivists in the North Labuhanbatu Library and Archives Service do not yet know about media transfer processing, only 2 archivists who can process transfer of media and also inadequate facilities and infrastructure.

 • Jan 3, 2022
 • Jurnal Penelitian & Pengembangan Pendidikan Fisika
 • Nyoto Suseno + 4 more

The role of school laboratories is vital in helping junior high school students learn science. Many schools have laboratory facilities but are underutilized. This study aims to optimize the role of school laboratories through action research. In three cycles, the writer carried out the SMP Negeri 2 Metro research and SMP Negeri 6 Metro. The first cycle carried out technical guidance to the laboratory manager. Still, the results were not as expected due to communication problems to understand the principal's importance of incomplete laboratory improvement. The second cycle is carried out by mentoring the laboratory management. This includes the making of the laboratory management, inventory, and labeling, and creating work programs. This cycle two treatment also has not shown the results as expected. The reflection results found that the root of the problem was that the teachers and the laboratory manager believed that practicum activities needed time. So, it had to be carried out outside of class hours to require additional time, effort, and cost. To overcome this problem, in the third cycle, a workshop on making a practicum guide and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) of practicum was developed according to the lesson schedule, then a trial was conducted. Data collection uses documentary, interview, and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) methods to explore the root of the problem and the solution. Data processing uses a qualitative approach with steps: data collection, selection, and grouping, tabulation, description, interpretation, and conclusions. Based on the results of action research data analysis, it can be concluded: First, management improvement and inventory of laboratory tools and materials as well as making practical SOPs, which are effective in optimizing the role of science laboratories in supporting the learning process; Second, the use of SOP practicum according to the lesson schedule is quite efficient in saving time, effort, and costs. According to the results of this study, it is recommended that for the laboratory to be optimal in supporting learning, laboratory management must be orderly equipped with SOPs, and inventory of tools and materials must be good.

 • Dec 27, 2023
 • Southeast Asian Journal of Islamic Education Management
 • Aris Nurbawani

Many public elementary schools in Indonesia in the 2023 PPDB will not receive any students at all. Meanwhile, SDIT Al Uswah Surabaya is different, this school is one of the Islamic schools in Surabaya which always gets quite a lot of students every year. Quality is one of the factors that makes a school attractive. One quality is the suitability of a condition to the standards used, including the suitability of the human resource standards held by SDIT Al Uswah Surabaya. This research aims to analyze the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for staffing standards at SDIT Al Uswah Surabaya along with its advantages and disadvantages. This research uses a qualitative approach. This research uses secondary data. Data were analyzed using human resource management theory according to Schermerhorn. The results of this research show that the SOP for staffing standards at SDIT Al Uswah Surabaya consists of 25 SOPs. The quality workforce search function consists of one SOP, the quality workforce development function consists of five SOPs, and workforce maintenance consists of twenty SOPs, and there are two SOP that can be grouped into two human resource management functions at once. The advantage of the SDIT Al Uswah Surabaya SOP is that it is prepared simply so that it is easy to understand and implement. The weakness of the SDIT Al Uswah Surabaya SOP is that there is inequality in making SOPs, namely that the maintenance SOP has more SOPs than the SOP for workforce search and development.

Synchronizing the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for Compound Cases Re-Summons
 • Jun 30, 2025
 • Semarak International Journal of Transportation and Logistics
 • Mohd Farid Lokman Mat Aleh + 2 more

This study focuses on the challenges faced at the Counter Summons Again for Cases Discharged Not An Acquittal (DNAA), particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic, when civil servants were required to follow rapidly changing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) while still performing their duties. As frontliners, these officers had to deal with public frustration, especially from individuals unable to renew their driving licenses due to expired summonses that could no longer be paid at the counter and instead required court appearances. This situation reflects a larger issue within the SOP framework, the procedures, though well-intended, were not adaptable enough to accommodate the unique and evolving circumstances brought on by the pandemic. The main objective of this study is to examine the effectiveness and suitability of the current SOPs in handling such exceptional cases and to propose necessary improvements that would help streamline services at the DNAA counter. Using a qualitative approach, this research analyzes actual cases and officer experiences at the DNAA counter to identify gaps and inefficiencies in SOP implementation. It also explores how the rigidity of existing SOPs prevents officers from offering practical solutions to the public during emergency conditions. The findings indicate that there is an urgent need to revise the SOPs to better align with real-world situations, allowing for more flexible and responsive public service. In doing so, this would also support the broader mission of the Malaysian Road Transport Department (RTD) to standardize and strengthen national transportation procedures while ensuring efficient service delivery in times of crisis.

Standard Operating Procedures for the Clinical Management of Patients Enrolled in a Prospective Study of Inflammation and the Host Response to Thermal Injury
 • Mar 1, 2007
 • Journal of Burn Care & Research
 • Geoffrey M Silver + 8 more

As part of the National Institutes of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS)-funded Inflammation and the Host Response to Injury study, participating investigators created a database, a clinical data collection protocol, and web-based case report form. To obtain high-quality clinical endpoints for correlation with genomic data, a uniform approach to patient management between centers was required. Standard operating procedures (SOPs) were generated to minimize variability and promote a uniform standard of patient care. The SOPs are necessary to enable validation of the clinical endpoints to be used for comparison with genomic and proteomic information derived from samples of blood and tissue obtained from thermally injured patients. Participating investigators identified areas of potential practice variation and developed a set of SOPs based on available data and sound clinical principles. In the absence of sufficient clinical data to identify a single management strategy, SOPs were designed to apply the best approach to management without interfering with local standards of care. The data- collection instrument, or case report form, was constructed concurrently with the SOPs. Wherever possible, the case report form was modified to collect data that might resolve controversial management issues. Modifications in management strategies that were necessary for children are delineated as needed. Data queries and site visits were conducted to audit compliance. SOPs for 10 areas of clinical care were developed. The institution of the SOPs required minor changes in clinical practice patterns and personnel training but did not require participating centers to procure new technology or alter the utilization of clinical resources significantly. The SOPs represent current management strategies applied to the study population to reduce variation in patient management. The SOPs are easily adaptable to other burn-related clinical protocols as well as to the routine daily management burn patients.
