Silbey most recently served as a law clerk to the Honorable Levin H. Campbell on the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. In October 2001, she entered private practice as an associate in the litigation department of the Boston office of Foley, Hoag, LLP. She holds a Ph. D. in Comparative Literature from the University of Michigan and a J. D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
