Abstract

In the 2000s Keren Cytter created two films based on short stories by Julio Cortazár: 'Continuity' and 'Les Ruissellements du Diable'. This article considers Cytter’s engagement with Cortazár’s writing as a way to broaden the understanding of narrative in her work. For the artist, narrative is a significant tool that, alongside her chosen means of image-making and editing, actively sustains spaces of mystery and storytelling.
