Abstract

The aim of the study is to determine the opinions of teachers about gifted children. This research was carried out and formed in a qualitative design. Study group of the research consists of 10 teachers working in Denizli Science and Art Centre. Semi-structured interview form was used to gather qualitative data from teachers using four open-ended questions were prepared to be used in semi-structured discussions. This study was designed by using a qualitative approach where qualitative data collection tools were used to collect data about teacher opinions towards gifted students. Qualitative data were analysed using open coding methods. Responses from each participant were analysed in detail and in isolation from those other participants. Sentences, phrases and words were studied separately in line with relation to the topic and analysed according to their relevance. Through repeated comparisons, similar ideas were integrated until major themes established for each study question.
