Abstract

(Lancet. 2020;395:760–761) The 2019 novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) broke out in China in December 2019 and by February 11, 2020, had caused 38,800 cases and 1113 (2.9%) deaths in China. Chinese health officials have published guidelines for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of pneumonia caused by COVID-19 based on emerging evidence. In developing prevention and treatment practices for pregnant women with COVID-19, as well as determining the risk of vertical transmission, more evidence is needed.
