Abstract

With increasing unemployment, changes in family way of life and radical changes in school catering services, there has been some concern that Britain's schoolchildren were adequately fed. Government surveys indicate that the overall consumption of major foodstuffs is adequate for everyone to have a well balanced diet and it appears that the nature of meal occasions has changed more than the intake of basic food commodities.
