Abstract
This paper summarizes a speech presented at the American Psychological Association and involves looking at the profession of psychology as business. As long as one maintains a sense of professionalism and is responsible to the ethics of the profession, there are many business opportunities in which the psychologist can engage in psychology-related businesses. The dissemination of psychological knowledge into this society is one of the goals of the various programs developed by the Psychological Service Center in Teaneck, New Jersey. By selling psychological services to many markets, including the consumer markets, public acceptance of psychology will ultimately result in job opportunities for more psychologists in the years to come. Current customer utilization of psychological services is now limited to the small proportion of the population in emotional cases.
