This study aims to address issues in employee leave data management at the Deli Serdang District Agricultural Office, where leave records were previously processed manually using separate documents, resulting in data duplication, inaccuracies, and delays in preparing reports. To solve this problem, a web-based Employee Leave Record Management System was developed using the Waterfall model through stages of requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. System evaluation was conducted using Black-Box testing to verify functional performance. The system supports structured recording of employee leave information, employee profile data such as position and department, and provides real-time reporting features to support administrative decision-making. The application was developed using the CodeIgniter-based MVC architecture and MySQL database, which enhances data accuracy, information accessibility, and administrative efficiency. The results demonstrate that the system successfully minimizes recording errors and improves the effectiveness of leave data management. Future development opportunities include integrating automated online leave request and approval workflows, mobile access features, and notification services to maximize usability and system automation.

This research aims to develop a web-based e-learning application at Sekolah Dasar Masehi Tanggaba by applying the Waterfall software development model. The background of this study stems from the need for interactive, flexible, and easily accessible learning media in the digital era, considering that conventional face-to-face methods are still predominantly used in schools. The Waterfall model was chosen because it provides a systematic workflow through the stages of requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. Data collection was carried out through observations, teacher interviews, and documentation studies to identify the actual needs of users. The results of this study produced an e-learning application with key features, including learning material management, interactive quizzes, discussion forums, and automated assessment. Teachers can upload structured materials and assignments, while students can access learning content, complete exercises, and interact through forums more flexibly. System testing was conducted using the black box method to ensure that each function runs according to user requirements and specifications. Based on the testing results, the application was proven to function properly, be practical to use, and effective in supporting the learning process. Teachers found it helpful in managing materials and assignments, while students experienced more independent and interactive learning that was not limited to the classroom. Therefore, the developed e-learning application can be considered valid, practical, and effective as a supporting learning medium in elementary schools and has the potential to improve learning quality in the digital era.

The management of Sumbangan Pembinaan Pendidikan (SPP) payments in Islamic boarding schools still faces issues related to delayed recording, data inaccuracies, and weak access control over financial information. This study aims to design and implement a web-based SPP payment information system that applies Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) to improve administrative order and data security. The system was developed using the Waterfall method, which consists of requirement analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance stages. The application was built using the Laravel framework with RBAC implemented at the middleware level to manage user access based on defined roles, namely Super Admin, Treasurer, Student Guardian, and Principal. System testing was conducted using the Black-Box Testing method to validate core functionalities, including user authentication, billing management, payment verification, report generation, and role-based access restrictions. The test results indicate that all system functions operate as expected and that the RBAC mechanism effectively prevents unauthorized access to sensitive features and data. Overall, the implemented system supports more structured payment administration, improves data accuracy, and enhances security and accountability in managing financial transactions within the pesantren environment.

  • Jurnal Teknoif Teknik Informatika Institut Teknologi Padang
  • Lucita Aprillia + 2 more

The increasing number of students in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) has made administrative tasks such as recording student violations, achievements, permissions, and health records more complex. Many schools still manage these data manually, resulting in duplication, delayed communication, and inefficient supervision. This study addresses this issue by developing a Web-Based Santri Management and Monitoring System integrated with WhatsApp, aiming to streamline data management and enhance real-time communication between administrators, guardians, and health staff. The system was developed using the Waterfall methodology, which includes requirement analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance stages. Three main user roles were defined: administrators, guardians, and health staff, each with specific responsibilities. A User Acceptance Test (UAT) was conducted with 32 respondents, including one administrator, 30 guardians, and one health staff. The results showed satisfaction levels of 100% for administrators, 87% for guardians, and 100% for health staff, indicating high user acceptance. These findings suggest that the system effectively addresses the challenges of manual data management, improves administrative efficiency, and strengthens communication through real-time WhatsApp notifications, providing a comprehensive solution for student monitoring and supervision in Islamic boarding schools.
