Abstract

To keep future limits on nitrogen oxide emission of diesel engine vehicles, one possible solution is the SCR-process in which an external reducing agent is added into the exhaust stream. Currently, adding solid reducing agents is still in the state of research, since they tend to form deposits. To overcome this disadvantage new paths to a foolproof and efficient homogenisation have to be followed. In this paper mixing with a new type of static mixer of very simple geometry will be described, that may constitute the kernel to a new solution in this field.
