Abstract
The density and the refractive index data (nD) for 2-amino-2-methylpropan-1-ol with alkanol (C1-C3) at T = (298.15–318.15) K and at pressure of 0.1 MPa. The excess, partial and apparent molar volumes were derived from density data. The excess molar volume (VmE) were also predicted from nD data by Nakata and Sakurai model. The nD data of binary mixtures were successfully predicted, for the first time, using the excess molar volume (VmE) data employing additivity rule for refractive index based on various mixing rules. The effect of temperature on VmE and Δnvalues were also interpreted qualitatively in terms of intermolecular interactions.
