Abstract

Thin section studies of the Oldhaven Beds of the London Basin have revealed the presence of significant proportions of volcanic ash grains, indicating probable correlation with the ash-bearing Harwich Member (London Clay Formation) of East Anglia and with the North Sea ‘Ash Marker’.
