Abstract
The use of virtual product development tools is essential in reducing time to market, but why do many car manufacturers struggle to keep up with the pace of virtual tool development? Why are many capabilities not fully used on a large scale or not even known? BMW driving dynamics department developed the Advanced Chassis Engineering (ACE) strategy with the aim of utilising the full potential of virtual tools through expert knowledge, automation and linking of tools in order to streamline the design process.
