Abstract
The objective of the study is to recognize the importance of conjugal sexual violence in France and to define the outlines. MethodA self-administered questionnaire with 14 questions was given to 100 women victims of domestic violence examined in the Unit of Clinical Forensic in Paris between January 1st, 2012 and June 30, 2012. ResultsOne hundred questionnaires were analyzed: 45% of the women are subjected to conjugal rapes during their life. Fourteen percent of the women are victims of sexual assaults during childhood. DiscussionConjugal rapes are linked to other forms of sexual acts of violence, multiple and repeated. The social, educational level and occupational field do not protect against these attacks. Even if victims are aware of domestic rape's law, they does not necessarily cast a complain. ConclusionSexual violence is frequently associated with domestic violence. Sexual abuse in childhood may be a predisposing factor of conjugal sexual violence in adulthood. There is a very important percent of conjugal sexual violence during life, consistent with international data.
