This study presents a comparative analysis of village development strategies in the economic, social, and environmental sectors in East Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province, and Lebak Regency, Banten Province, Indonesia. It uses a mixed-method approach, combining qualitative case studies with quantitative descriptive analysis. Focusing on Grenengan Timur Village in East Lombok and Malabar Village in Lebak, the study examines the disparities in resource accessibility, community participation, and environmental awareness between developing and underdeveloped villages in pursuing sustainable rural development. The findings reveal significant differences in economic access, social support systems, and environmental management practices between the two villages. While Grenengan Timur demonstrates better economic accessibility and stronger social networks, Malabar strives for challenges in infrastructure development and community engagement. Addressing the disparities, the study proposes a “sister village” collaboration model, emphasizing knowledge transfer and best practice sharing between developed and underdeveloped villages. This research contributes to the understanding of rural development dynamics in Indonesia and provides practical recommendations for accelerating progress in underdeveloped villages through inter-village collaboration and targeted interventions in economic, social, and environmental sectors.

Lebak Regency and Pandeglang Regency are areas in Banten Province that have unique natural resources and socio-economic characteristics. However, the two districts still have sub-districts with underdeveloped status and contribute to the extreme poverty rate in the Province. In 2020, these districts each had 11 sub-districts with underdeveloped status. Then, in 2023, the number of underdeveloped subdistricts in Pandeglang Regency decreased to one while Lebak Regency still has six underdeveloped sub-districts. The Developing Village Index is one of the benchmarks that show areas in need of attention and improvement, and one of the composite indices used to measure it is the Economic Resilience Index. Therefore, this study aims to analyze, evaluate, and formulate policy strategies or efforts that can improve the Economic Resilience Index of these regencies. It uses a qualitative descriptive research method by conducting a comparative study between the governments of Lebak and Pandeglang regencies. Data were collected by focus group discussion, observation, and documentation. Results show that Lebak Regency, represented by Baduy Village and Pandeglang Regency, represented by Curug Village, face problems in determining their status as very backward villages. This is due to the inconsistency of indicators and the lack of accurate data input. Local governments certainly have made efforts in facing these challenges by utilizing the agricultural, touristic, economic, and creative potential of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDES).

Traffic jams are a common sight that can be seen in almost all major cities in Indonesia. One of them is in Rangkasbitung City, Lebak Regency. This happens because the number of vehicles continues to increase. The traffic light control system implemented in Indonesia is a static preset time because the time of each phase is predetermined. This type of control system is still not effective in overcoming traffic congestion, especially at certain peak traffic jams. By using the Mamdani fuzzy logic system, it is possible to implement the human mindset into a system. Some rules can be set out in the fuzzy logic controller. The purpose of this study is to design a traffic light control system using fuzzy inference that regulates traffic based on its density. The data used are observations made at the research site. The conclusion of this study is to explain that the fuzzy mamdani method can solve existing problems in traffic congestion in Rangkasbitung City, Lebak Regency, Banten Province. Drought is a natural phenomenon that is one of the most frequent natural disasters in Indonesia. Significantly reduced water availability characterizes drought over a period occurring over a large area. Thus, drought occurs due to the deviation of weather conditions, that is lower rainfall than normal conditions that occur in a region. Lebak Regency is a dry area that has average monthly or annual rainfall below normal and most agricultural activities on dry land. The research objective is to analyze the drought and plant species in Lebak Regency, Banten Province. The method of analysis used in this study is spatial analysis (spatial analysis) and statistical analysis (Chi-Square). The results found, e.g. (1) The high drought areas concentrated in the northeast and southwest regions that are far from the center of Lebak Regency. (2) The types of crops are dominated by plantations, especially outside the Capital Region of the Regency. (3) The relationship between drought and crop type is insignificant at the real level of 0.05, which means that in high drought areas it is not always planted with certain types of crops. This research concluded that drought in Lebak Regency concentrated in the northern and southern part outside the capital city and the agriculture type dominated with the plantation.

The birth rate (fertility) is one of the factors that influences the increase in population. Banten Province has 8 districts and cities with different fertility rates. One of the fertility indicators presented in the Long Form SP2020 data is Birth Rate data by Age Group / Age Specific Fertility Rate (ASFR). The aim of this research is to determine the earliest, latest reproductive age and the age of women who have the highest fertility rates in each district and city in Banten Province. The skewness (measure of slope) and kurtosis (measure of sharpness) values of the continuous curve formed will also be studied. ASFR data presented by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) is discrete data. Fertility rates will be approached using the MBF (Modified Beta Function) continuous fertility model. In this research, information was obtained that the earliest reproductive age in Banten Province was 15.64 years. This happened to women in Lebak Regency. Meanwhile, the latest reproductive age in Banten Province is 49.85 years. This happened to women in Pandeglang Regency. It can also be seen that the highest peak fertility rate for the population of Banten Province occurred in women aged 27.54 years in the Cilegon City area, with a peak fertility value of 0.13055. Apart from being based on calculations, this is in accordance with the curve visualization carried out using Mathematica software. The highest skewness value occurs in the continuous fertility curve for the Lebak Regency area. This means that Lebak Regency has the most left-leaning curve. All continuous fertility curves in districts and cities in Banten Province have a platykurtic distribution (flat curve) because the kurtosis value is smaller than 0.263
