Abstract

Design details of an electron reflection stage are described together with various applications. A unique feature of the use of this stage is a low energy secondary electron gun which is used to ``flood'' the specimen. This permits immediate surface imaging of insulator surfaces without prior specimen surface preparation. With this technique semiconductor surfaces and glass surfaces were inspected.
