Abstract

The article presents the main results of a sociological study of the state and prospects for the development of the cultural sphere of the municipality of Salekhard, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. The object of this study was the sphere of culture of Salekhard, the subject is the state and problems of its development. The study was applied in nature and was aimed at obtaining an analytical basis for further verification of the effectiveness of the implementation of the strategy of socio-economic development of the municipality of Salekhard until 2030 in terms of the development of the city's cultural sphere, as well as the adjustment of existing and development of new provisions of this strategy. The results of the study, based on the data of an expert survey and sociological observation, indicate significant achievements in the development of the cultural sphere of the city of Salekhard. Thus, the celebration of the Reindeer Herder's Day in Salekhard has become not only a holiday of local significance, but also acquired the status of a tourist brand of the region. It is revealed that despite significant achievements, there are also problems associated with the shortage of young creative personnel, the deterioration of the material and technical base of cultural institutions of the city. Promising areas for the development of the cultural sphere are such as the creation of open and closed citywide venues for mass events, as well as the development of creative public spaces. In addition, the creation of a drama theater may become a new direction.
