Abstract

Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) is a kind of induction generator where its stator winding is directly connected to the grid and rotor winding connected to grid via back to back convertor (Rotor Side Convertor and Grid Side Convertor) along with DC link voltage connected between them. DFIG is widely used in wind energy conversion system for its variable speed operation. DFIG is more efficient and gives better performance than fixed speed generator. Vector control strategy to decoupled control of active and reactive power is applied in this paper. Linear PI controller is used for controlling purpose. Stator Flux oriented vector control scheme is performed at Rotor Side Convertor and grid voltage-oriented vector control strategy is performed at Grid Side Convertor. Simulation has been carried out in MATLAB Simulink environment.
