Abstract

Abstract Variability in the tensile ductility of high-pressure die-cast AM50 Mg-alloy is examined at five different test temperatures. The fracture path preferentially goes through the regions of clusters of pores. The percent ductility is correlated to area fraction of porosity in the fracture surfaces using a power law equation.
