Abstract

Criteria, developed in an accompanying paper (see ibid., vol.4, 1371 (1974), for the validity of dephasing calculations of the reduction of the de Haas-van Alphen amplitude, are applied to two cases: metals containing dislocations and metals containing impurities. It is found that the calculations for dislocations should be perfectly reliable, whereas those for impurities should only be capable of reasonable estimates.
