Abstract
Drawings by 79 children ( M 11.44 yr.) were rated on the Harris-Goodenough (HG) and Dunn-Lorge (DL) scales. Acceptable rerate, interrater, and retest reliabilities were found. Criterion measures were: HG Point Scale IQs, an individual and a group intelligence test, scholastic achievement tests, examination marks, rankings by teachers, father's occupation, a dexterity test, and Cattell's Jr.-Sr. High School Personality Questionnaire. The quality scales could be used as approximations of the point scales. Validities ranged from low to moderate. No consistent pattern of correlations with the various intelligence scores emerged. Validities tended to be higher for the HG than for the DL scores.
