Abstract

The effect of electromagnetic radiation on the valence and coordination states of copper ions during the synthesis of semiconducting copper calcium phosphate glasses at 400–1200°C is investigated. The positions of Cu2+ ions in the phosphate network are determined using EPR spectroscopy, X-ray powder diffraction analysis, and magnetic susceptibility measurements of cakes and glasses.
