Abstract
V35 - Retzius-sparing robot-assisted radical prostatectomy is safe for patients with prior transurethral prostate surgery
Highlights
Several studies have shown that patients with prior transurethral prostate surgery are associated with greater perioperative complications, as well as inferior oncological and functional outcomes when they undergo robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP)
Perioperative outcomes as well as short term oncological outcome and continence rates up to one year post Retzius-sparing robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RS-RARP) were compared between the two groups
Seventeen patients (4.1%) underwent prior transurethral prostate surgery
Summary
Several studies have shown that patients with prior transurethral prostate surgery are associated with greater perioperative complications, as well as inferior oncological and functional outcomes when they undergo robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP)
