Abstract
UWB planar antennas with dual slits in the conductor planes are presented. The reference antenna has frequency bandwidth between 3.1 and 10.6 GHz while the proposed antenna has dual band notch characteristics between the frequency bandwidths 3.3~3.7GHz and 5~6GHz, respectively. Dual band notch characteristics are realized by dual slits etched onto the conductor elements. Simplicity and low-profile are features attributes the proposed antenna band rejections for World Interoperable Microwave Access (WIMAX) and Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) are designed. Band notch characteristics are simply manifested by changing the structural parameters of the slits.
